The PTSD stuff seems like bullshit. It's been less than a week, and he's seeing a therapist regularly? And of course they'd be hesitant to go back out so soon after an incident like that. That said, I hope the driver of the car is charged with aggravated assault.
nice

CNN iReports are just as bad as blogs, I wouldn't suggest posting them.
You do not have to be going that fast to give someone a neck injury.

This thing looks like it would have enough kinetic force to do some damage even at 30mph I love how there's people defending this bitch.
I think you missed the point. If that thing had been moving 5 miles per hour, it would have caused more damage to the go-kart than that. The only possible impact site could have been the tire due to the ground clearance of the bumper, and if that was the case, that cart would have been crushed. The power of the engine alone without your foot on the gas will take you through your garage door(this jeep is automatic). The article is bullshit, along with the kids story. We never even heard the woman's side to the story or the reason for the police not to press charges. Judging by the location of the tire tracks, this lady never left more than a foot of the road, and go-karts are not street legal, laying the blame on the kids in the cart. That foot of space may have been enough to make the cart headllight hit the bumper, the cart bumper hit the tire, but I doubt her car was moving at the time. There's no cause here to press charges for assault. It wasn't attempted murder. It wasn't a hate crime. This was most likely an accident between two vehicles. Who deserves most of the blame is debateable, but I don't get what she is sueing for.
Actually most people do get PTSD from car crashes, it's not as strong as the one you get from going to war obviously, but it is still very much there.
I just think it's a bit early to diagnose that, though.
his mother handled it well because i promise my wife wouldnt have and i would have backed her up,unless these white people see there are consequences with their actions they will continue threatening and killing our kills standup for your kids!
Story sounds stupidly biased to me. Looking at the pictures, it sure does go into detail about flying over a curb that, in reality, is a tiny little concrete edge on a curved street. And I'm sorry, but how big is this go-cart? There is no way in hell it rammed a Jeep Wrangler 'head on'. I don't know if anyone has seen one before, but a gocart would only be able to touch the maybe the tires on a Wrangler, unless the cart itself was one built with a full roll-cage. Even then, the weight of a Jeep would have crushed the cart, or even taken the kids head off. Unless the Jeep wasn't moving? Or this lady had incredibly supurb brakes and driving skills. I think I see why this user-submitted story wasn't 'vetted' by CNN, they didn't find it's information worth verifying. I love how it was posted under the 'Trayvor Martin' news assignment, I don't see any reason to associate this article with an incident across the country. Looking at the photo 'evidence', if this gocart rammed a vehicle HEAD ON, he most certainly was NOT in the grass, considering the tiretracks of the jeep don't put the left tires more than a foot off the roadway. Lastly, I believe asking injured children where they live and where there parents are, is perfectly valid given the situation. Next, she's criticized getting in her vehicle and avoiding confrontation until the police arrive. But I'm glad Facepunch decided to jump this woman's ass without even a police report.
I live in the Houston area and the only place I've seen or heard about this is on facepunch. It's bullshit.
He's black so it instantly counts as hate crime though.
And it's Texas so it's clearly racist as
Texas.
so eloquently pointed out.
you have a computer learn to use it i found it idiot!
I live in the Houston area and the only place I've seen or heard about this is on facepunch. It's bullshit.

Texas.
South. [editline]2nd April 2012[/editline]
his mother handled it well because i promise my wife wouldnt have and i would have backed her up,unless these white people see there are consequences with their actions they will continue threatening and killing our kills standup for your kids!
what are you on
his mother handled it well because i promise my wife wouldnt have and i would have backed her up,unless these white people see there are consequences with their actions they will continue threatening and killing our kills standup for your kids!
yeah i hate killsteals
Jules and the other 13-year old boy in the go-cart sustained back and neck injuries as a result of the wreck. The boys had collars placed on their necks, were placed on stretchers and taken by ambulance to the emergency room of Southeast Memorial Hermann Hospital. They were treated and released, but Jules has since been diagnosed with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and is seeing a therapist regularly.
All of my hate. And that's not even counting the fact she was seen "laughing when talking to officers."
I think race is more or less not really relevant here. Not saying it could be but the news story seems to be kicking up unneeded dust by stating that the boy was black and the lady who hit him was a white middle aged woman. Least how I see it. But man, that's fucked up. That lady better be charged with someone. The boy even got PTSD from this and shows no remorse.
Do we even know if this happened on purpose? Any number of things could've caused this woman to swerve out of control and hit them. Her anger is understandable for having wrecked, even though she reacted far too extremely to the situation and was more or less at fault if the article can be believed. We have no proof she made any vile racist comments and race literally has nothing to do with this... All these people going "hurr bigot woman" probably didn't read the article, it makes no mention of any racial context apart from the author/news agency's implications.
actually, texas has the lowest hate crime per capita of all the southern states yeah, i was surprised too
http://www.datamasher.org/mash-ups/hate-crimes-capita Why surprised? We're not a bad state.
I just think it's a bit early to diagnose that, though.
Usually car crashes gives it almost instantly, rather than with wars where you flip out with a rifle 10 years after :v:
If a black woman went off the road to hit a white kid in a go kart they would be crying for blood
Being the optimist I am, I would like to think they would. Part of me thinks more people would be angry about this. Race or not something is defiantly wrong with this woman.
How did I know the kid was black before even reading the article
"Oh don't worry! We have a black president now! Racism is currently non-existent!"
"Oh don't worry! We have a black president now! Racism is currently non-existent!"
"Whats this? A black person the victim of the actions of a white person? Must be racism! No other explanation required!"
