Armed police clear public from Teesside beach - no one knows why

I'm at Teesside University. News travelled fast to Middlesbrough town centre, a man who preferred to remain unnamed had this to say;
"Crazy Cunt on the Rag probably"
Back to you matt.ant!
First thing I thought was Jaws.
Except bigger then the movie version that requires armed officers to face mano a sharko.
i'm not saying it was aliens but it was aliens
Mutant zombies obviously..
So no-one else is concerned that the Army has begun domestic policing?
EOD =/= Domestic Policing

Source?
unexploded ordinance?
People still find bombs from WW2
In Cleveland?
What does the woman being Muslim have to do with her reportedly carrying a fucking bomb, at least to do with the police responding, it's not like they wouldn't responded if it was a white woman.
You missed the point of the post completely. If it was a white christian woman, the police wouldn't have shut down the whole place without confirming it was a bomb, they wouldn't have made a scene like this.

Cleveland, UK. You know, one of the countries that has quite a problem with WW2 UXO.
Oh, I saw "Cleveland" so I assumed it was America, the greatest country in the world.
Definitely the SCP Foundation at work catching a new SCP (yes I know someone beat me to the joke, feel free to rate me clocks).
On a serious note, What is so terrifying thats on that beach that you MUST keep it under wraps?
So far the only thing we know for sure is that its definitely not a old WW2 landmine because, as CodeMonkey3 pointed out, Why would you put landmines on a beach in Cleveland UK, yes, WW2 was at Britian's doorstep but landmines surely wouldnt be laid right where the war wasnt happening.
You know, if America had thought up original names for its cities none of this confusion would exist. God damn copycats.

Maybe if you weren't a bunch of god-less communists we wouldn't need new cities.

Sure they would have, you can't tell how a bomb is triggered based on the religion of the person who made it, so they would have cordoned off the area and sent in disposal experts (or a robot, etc.)

You'd be surprised how many towns we have called Oxford.
-snip- I'm late as fuck.

An unexploded bomb, as in one dropped from a plane. My old man used to be an EOD technician or equivalent back in the 70s, and told me they're as scary as hell to get rid of because they're unpredictable and unstable.
