Well, it's official. Desktop computers are the Apple II of the modern age.
how do you mean ?
What the article failed to mention (at least so I read) is that these processors have to be cooled to ridiculously low temperatures to even function correctly. They're working on that, but don't get excited too quickly
So will this change programming, with the lack of 0s and 1s?
Cool. Can it run Linux?
Hrm, this is the first step towards a sentient AI that is significantly more intelligent than humans. A concerning concept. I'm not sure how we will cope once desktop machines are legitimately more useful than human beings. Weird shit is going to go down over the course of a few decades sometime in the relatively near future.

Each group will also probably have noticeably different architecture in their houses.

Once we have powerful quantum computers, encryption becomes pointless Then what

It can however be better than a human being because it is faster. But it will always be limited by the abilities and knowledge of it's creators.

You know, if a computer only becomes able to genuinely learn by itself then that shouldn't be out of reach.
Once we have powerful quantum computers, encryption becomes pointless Then what
Quantum Encryption! Although that only actually helps secure and validate a "tunnel" (like SSL/TLS currently), You'd still run classical encryption on top of that. How to deal with encrypted disks and such is a problem, since you could easily break any form of encryption with a full blown quantum computer.

That would require the intelligence to know how our own brain works from top to toe something I think is simply impossible. But should it ever be possible, then sure.
They are already applying quantum superpositions to computers? I was not aware of that until now. Rated informative.
Hell yes, but on the pesimist side, this will cost $654,235,125 a computer.
Yeah, but in like 10 years they will be a LOT cheaper.
Its not hardware advancement that's the problem.........its software.......
