Macedonia didn't really seem very welcoming, unless you go to Skopje
they all have knives and eat pasta with ketchup :pwn:
My mother is a born-and-raised Icelander, moved here to Canada around 30 years ago. I was born here, subsequently, but me and my brother usually go back to Iceland every five or so years for a family reunion.
Even though I'm technically Icelandic, I don't speak a word of the language, but everyone is very accommodating and I haven't once (save one time, but that's another story) had a rude encounter with anybody while staying there for upwards of several weeks at a time. That, and the country itself is absolutely beautiful and I've been to some pretty awesome parties. I'm pretty happy to see it made it to the top of the list. Makes me sort of proud in a weird way.
There's also one day in every year where the entire day is all light, and one day where the entire day is completely night. I've only been there for the light one, but man it kinda blows your mind when you fall asleep during daylight and wake up during daylight. Or you go outside at 10 PM and there's the sun, still shining.
Iceland? ICELAND?
My mom got evicted out of the country because the family she was staying with accused her of stealing a bathmat :v:
Woah, how rude!

Your mother, for stealing a bathmat that is.

They were batshit serious! She was given 24 hours to leave the border or they'd arrest her :v:

Does anyone have a link to the results of the entire poll? The article gives fuck all information about it.

Where's bloody Australia at?
Those bloody wankers, somebody get a knife and make those bloody fools put us at 1.

What's going on in Canada? :c
Morocco?! It's the worst holiday I have ever been on. About a 1/16th of the people spoke English (please don't get me wrong, I don't expect everyone I meet to, but talking in dodgy french with everyone you meet gets tiring), but the main problem was that the people don't treat women with any respect - which ruined my girlfriend's time. To top it off a restaurant we were in was blown up the day after we were there in a terrorist attack.

I like to think NZ came second because of our proximity to Australia.
Eyjafjallajökull wasn't a friend of mine when i wanted to come home from england back in 2010!
Oh you're all too kind.

Basically my reaction.
And after being to Macedonia as well I don't see how they're so far up, felt like any other Balkan country.
Not really surprised at Venezuela being the second most unfriendly place in the world.
You people should once try to drive here. What an experience.
This contest is rigged, everyone knows England's the friendliest place
Well they're all family...

And if you live in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland there's a very good chance you will run into anti-Indian and anti-Pakistani racism. I can't fathom where this idea of Canada always being super nic and happy and accepting comes from. The Maritimes can be racist as shit too, but honestly, the Maritimes are stuck in the '60's in a lot of ways.
Canada is full of judgmental, ass backwards bigots dude. Just really good at keeping the bad shit out of the spotlight.
Also two-faced as hell when dealing with non-Canadians, I've found
This, THIS THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Canadian's are the most two-faced people I've encountered. It's because we're so polite to your face, but as soon as you leave we just SLAM you behind your back, EVERYONE does it.
How did Austria become 5th?
Most Austrians I've met were really egoistic.
How did Austria come 5th?
I hate to keep playing this card for this thread, but isn't racism and xenophobia a bit of a problem in Australia too? All that "Fuck off we're full" stuff? I'm sure they take cultural attitudes to newcomers and the like into account.
Unless you mean they should be lower on the list? I kinda jumped the gun on this comment
england isn't best at anything
English Humor best humor
Why isn't France on the list of most unfriendly?

NS is the best provence. Wonderful people, warmest provence on average. Lakes, oceans, valleys, mountains, and the best summers. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.
Seriously? Austria is on 5th? I lived here for 5 years and everyone is rude as fuck. Jesus christ...
I bet you get loads of pussy in Iceland.
