Both sides in the Scottish referendum debate are making their final pitch to voters on the last day of campaigning.
It comes as the latest polls suggested the result remained too close to call, with a slender lead for a "No" vote.
First Minister Alex Salmond has written to voters appealing to them to back independence, urging "let's do this".
Key figures from the pro-Union Better Together campaign were out meeting nightworkers into Wednesday, ahead of a Love Scotland, Vote No rally.
I think we all know the real winner is democracy
I hope they vote Yes. I've been meaning to get a new globe anyways.

Wrong Prime in your avatar, there :v:
I think we all know the real winner is Vladimir Putin with 97% of Scots agreeing to become part of Russia
[del]In that case I am currently happy about the poll.[/del]
God damn it facepunch, stick to one thing.
if they vote yes then the economy is fucked
bastard just want to make life hard for us british folk :,(
Saor Alba brothers
I like it when countries are more unified and cooperative , so I hope "No" wins.
I really hope no wins, by the sounds of things the Yes side want to retain as much union assets as they can to sustain themselves and that will simply not work out if they split from Britain
I like it when countries are more unified and cooperative , so I hope "No" wins.
Countries don't have to have the same government in order to cooperate with one another.
What I want know if Yes. Wins what will happen to pensions.
fingers crossed for yes
For too long have the Scots been oppressed by our money, lets hope they vote for the right thing

The Euro? :v:
One of Democracy's major failings is the whole reason this is happening, the Scottish (which are a minority) are under-represented, they more often than not vote liberal yet in every election their roof gets caved in by England's colossal dong of conservatism, the Scottish also don't want to get dragged into every war that England gets involved in.
Except they are held up financially by assets from the rest of the British economy
I kind of want Scotland to vote yes, but only so I (and others, presumably) can use the FREEEEEDOOOOM clip from Braveheart.
On the other hand, if that happens, Piers Morgan invades us again.
I don't have a prediction for the actual vote, but I do have a prediction for voting day.
Chaos.
Chaos and a political circus. Anyone in Scotland with ideations of watching TV that day better give it up and find a book or a video game or something.
As an American with no knowledge of English or Scottish politics, what are the pros and cons of Scotland seceding from the UK?
SCOTLAND FOREVER!!!
I want Scotland to win because it would make for interesting news.
I think no might have a 1% advantage, though I remain hopeful that yes wins. Voting no is going to be shortsighted and selfish because people don't want to do the legwork involved in changing and improving the country hands on.
I think Scotland separating is a horrible idea but I partially want to actually see it just to find out what will happen.
I want it to happen just like how i like watching car crashes in slow motion
people in my country dreamed of being unified
in others they dream of running away lol
As an American with no knowledge of English or Scottish politics, what are the pros and cons of Scotland seceding from the UK?
Pros would be not being England's bitch elections wise(this would have all been fixed if England wouldn't overrule all other administrative bodies) and that the Scots would finally get the profit from natural resources and taxation.
The cons are a still undecided way of handling the monetary question, which could lead to banks abandoning Scotland and cause a massive debt pileup. There is also a large amount of British military assets they refuse to give up, but can't really send South, either.
All in all, there are good reasons why Scotland should have the right to break off in order to let go of the democratic nooses imposed by the English votes, but there's a good chance both countries will try to tear each other up over the question of a stable dividing.

The most plausible outcome is the most likely, economic dip first 5 to 10 years, then things get varyingly better than they are now as Scots get localised economic and political control.
I swear the way you people make it sound Scotland must be the only country in northern europe unable and undeserving of governing and representing itself independently.
British now, British forever
I want Scotland to invade Britain, take it over and make nothing change.
I still reckon it will be a 'yes'.
