Vote yes! Screw up the Union Jack!
Except they are held up financially by assets from the rest of the British economy
Except it isn't. Scotland pays money into England, even the statistics the BBC release show that.
I predict that it could go either way :)
Alba gu bràth
Has there been anyone toxxing on the outcome?
I have no real bias towards yes or no because this is not an issue that is affecting me, but no seems most likely to win to me.
I hope Scotland goes away, more money for us ENGLISH folk too.
as a canadian my whole life I've had one of our little territories threatening to leave I know this all too well breaking up a country is like breaking up a home also David fucking Bowie said "stay with us Scotland" DAVID BOWIE
British now, British forever
Spoken like a true American.
Fellow Scotsman here, I have a feeling it's going to be a Yes win. It's probably going to end up being a rough few years because of this though, but not "great depression" tragic though. Feels a bit odd that my vote could actually mean something for a change.
At the last moment they're gonna change the question to Should Scotland stay true to the Crown and the Queen?
I think no will probably win by a narrow margin, but I want yes to win mostly just to see what happens. I also want a lot of Braveheart references and the rebuilding of Hadrian's Wall if the yes vote goes through.
I want yes Scotland to win because I want something that isn't ISIS or Putin to talk about.
Do you think that the UK will change the union jack if Scotland actually secede?
The worst part about it is that no matter which side wins, both lose. If Yes wins with 60%, 40% will get the government they never voted for, and vice versa. though as far as i see before it used to bee 100% getting the government they never voted for
I hope Yes wins because it means I have new flags to collect on /int/
Do you think that the UK will change the union jack if Scotland actually secede?
Probably not, and/or No "Brand Britian" is still kind of a big deal. While in concept the flag will change (losing the navy saltire blue) in reality the remaining UK is not going to change it's flag
Scot here, pretty sure it's going to be a No, but by the slimmest margin. I also predict that in 2 - 3 years you could re-poll people on "Knowing what you know now about the Union, how would you have voted in 2014?" and will find an overwhelming Yes Majority. We are not Better Together, and the next few years are really going to show that what with the up-and-coming 11% cut to the Scottish Budget, and the choice of THREE flavours of Tory (Red, Yellow and Blue!) and one flavour of Eurosceptic fuckwits (UKIP) at the next general election, which is just going to be as disappointing to Scotland as the last general election was. Also the fact that the vaunted "NEW DEVO-AWESOME" powers have already been shot down in flames by Tory and Labour backbenchers saying they will oppose them, and would rather further cuts to what devolution we have so far. Yeah, shit is not going to be good for Scotland in the next few years in the Union, probably decades.
Will the UK change its official name if Scotland becomes independent? Kingdom of England, Wales and Northern Ireland?
Will the UK change its official name if Scotland becomes independent? Kingdom of England, Wales and Northern Ireland?
Its still one big united kingdom though. If Wales and Ireland were to succeed, I can understand changing the name back to just England but not just for Scotland's departure.
Will the UK change its official name if Scotland becomes independent? Kingdom of England, Wales and Northern Ireland?
Would still be the United Kingdom of England, Wales and Northern Ireland, surely? So probably not. Damn Ninjas.
Its going to be yes and in some years English have patrol the borders and detain any scots trying to escape from their third world shithole they made. That will be my dream job.
Wales isn't a Kingdom.
Has there been anyone toxxing on the outcome?
Okay let's do this. I'm toxxing that there will be a result.
Wales isn't a Kingdom.
It's a mammal [editline]17th September 2014[/editline]
Okay let's do this. I'm toxxing that there will be a result.
"Results are inconclusive, a revote must be taken" :v:

Damn Ninjas.
"United Kingdom of England, Wales and Northern Ireland" maybe, but that's still different from the current "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". Also I'm not sure it can be considered "united" if it only consists of one kingdom.
I'm voting no but I just know it's going to be an incredibly close call. I hope it's a no win but to be perfectly honest there is no way to tell who it may be. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the silent voters.
Its going to be yes and in some years English have patrol the borders and detain any scots trying to escape from their third world shithole they made. That will be my dream job.
Can I join in?
