• New GOP Bill Would Allow Hospitals To Let Women Die Instead Of Having An Abortion

So if the mother dies, does "Protect Life Act" really live up to it's name? If the laws are already in place that allows a hospital to relocate patients to someplace with doctors willing to perform abortion, what on earth would be the point of this law aside from sneakily opening up the possibility to please Jesus through "punishing" women wanting the procedure? Could someone answer that?
This is just terrible. Nothing else needs to be said.
Glaber... Please defend this
Let's see, in referring to ExplodingGuy's post with the bill in it. It appears that this amendment only strips out funds for cases where it's not an emergency. Oddly enough, I'm ok with this for now even though it still permits funds for emergency abortions. Now if the Obama administration was doing things the legal way, this amendment would probably had just popped up later. [editline]5th February 2011[/editline]
The democrats ended a war, repealed DADT, reformed healthcare, reformed the financial sector, and prevented a second great depression Stop saying they didn't accomplish anything because it's horseshit
Prevented! Why don't you visit south of your border sometime? They didn't prevent a great depression, they're trying to cause one!

I know that they have to take small steps, but a compromise is not a victory in any sense.
my pary are with the mother
Uhh Read what I bolded. Hospitals don't have to send women out for abortions even if they are necessary. The exception based on rape that comes earlier in the bill doesn't apply to this section, only to federal funding.
Ah well, I tried.

Which is evil.
Oh Glaber, never change. Because that would be progression. Which is evil.
In fact I think he should go backwards to a time when we didn't yet have limbs and were unable to operate keyboards
How about we just kill tax evaders instead?

Hell, if they had power, it's pretty clear we'd be seeing some more anti-gay legislation rolling out. The healthcare reform does suck, but you need something in place to start the change I think. Your country clearly doesn't see a healthcare system as a good idea despite it working pretty well everywhere else in the world.
Now if the Obama administration was doing things the legal way, this amendment would probably had just popped up later.
They tried to put something similar into "Obamacare" but it failed thankfully. [editline]5th February 2011[/editline] Called the Stupak amendment.
The healthcare reform does suck, but you need something in place to start the change I think. Your country clearly doesn't see a healthcare system as a good idea despite it working pretty well everywhere else in the world.
It sucks because it supports the insurance companies but since it prevents them from denying coverage based on preexisting conditions it's a very good first step. A public option can always be added later, the framework is there.
So in a single post you a) didn't read the bill b) called the Obama administration illegal c) said they are actively trying to damage America
Well, if they obeyed the judge that rulled the whole thing unconstitutional, I wouldn't be calling them illegal. Besides, the parts you boded in the bill don't say that those who do preform the emergency abortions don't get the money. Just that they can refuse to preform the abortion. Who knows, maybe if people knew that hospitals were less willing to preform abortions, we'd have less people having sex out of wedlock, or the drug companies, excuse me, Big Pharma making more money off of birth control pills. Oh and about point c, read this: http://www.prisonplanet.com/obamas-blocking-of-new-power-plants-triggers-nationwide-blackouts.html
Well, if they obeyed the judge that rulled the whole thing unconstitutional, I wouldn't be calling them illegal.
Would only be the case if the supreme court made that ruling Glaber. You are a ~political expert~, you should know this.
Besides, the parts you boded in the bill don't say that those who do preform the emergency abortions don't get the money. Just that they can refuse to preform the abortion.
And can refuse to refer her for one as well. Essentially, they are allowed to let her die in the hospital bed. Reading comprehension, Glaber. There is nothing wrong with sex out of wedlock this isn't 1394.
Oh and about point c, read this: http://www.prisonplanet.com/obamas-blocking-of-new-power-plants-triggers-nationwide-blackouts.html
Prison Planet is not a source and I will not sully my fantastic web history with it. 4 HIT COMBO
Men making womens' decisions, what could possibly go wrong?

Well regardless, zeke, it may not be 1394, but what's wrong with waiting to be married before having sex? and Why should anti abortion people be forced to pay for abortions anyway? Edit: Who's Alex Jones?
what's wrong with waiting to be married before having sex?
it sucks [editline]5th February 2011[/editline]
Who knows, maybe if people knew that hospitals were less willing to preform abortions, we'd have less people having sex out of wedlock
no not really [editline]5th February 2011[/editline] the last thing any of us were concerned about while having unprotected sex (you know that's how childeren are made, right?) was abortions
God, I just came back from playing GTAIV and I swear this is so stupid it fits right in with the radio satire.
it sucks
So? You rather knock up some woman and then have to be responsible for her decision on weather to abort or not?
the last thing any of us were concerned about while having unprotected sex (you know that's how childeren are made, right?) was abortions
And this is why Big pharma is making money off of birth control pills.
Well regardless, zeke, it may not be 1394, but what's wrong with waiting to be married before having sex?
Nothing. What's wrong with having sex when you're not married? There's no reason that the existence of pre/non-marital sex should be mutually exclusive with marital sex.
Who's Alex Jones?
A super saiyan.
So? You rather knock up some woman and then have to be responsible for her decision on weather to abort or not?
no i'd pull out or if it happened to be a particularly awesome planned out day i'd use a condom what are you, 12 years old come on now
This Is just getting fucking ridiculous.
And this is why Big pharma is making money off of birth control pills.
well good birth control pills rock go women
