Lol who gives a shit about the rates
Apparently you cared enough to rate it disagree.
Well they shouldn't, because a group should not be generalized on its worst members. Disliking someone because of their actions and character is ok, disliking someone solely based on their religion and/or heritage is not. Why do I even have to say this?
Because even groups with good intentions generalize what they're against. Generalisation is literally a basic nature dating back from the primate ancestors. Not saying it's a good thing, but there you have it.
Apparently you cared enough to rate it disagree.
Being a crybaby about it is another matter
theres a lot of antisemites in america who hate jews and could give a rats ass whats happening in israel.
generally you see those guys among the right wingers who think jewish bankers and zionists control the american media/congress/president in cahoots with the jesuits and illuminati. israel controls the usa blah blah blah like no joke most antisemites i have ever met believe this shit.
or they're just kids with skinhead parents who carve swastikas into things and attack jew kids [editline]14th November 2013[/editline] or they're just nerds who think that the jew kids deserve it because of the headlines they see on facepunch
antisemitism would be a lot less of a problem if people would stop associating the entirety of jewish people with the atrocious actions of the nation of isreal
People use this logic so selectively. This is what happened to us Japanese folk during WWII. Even if we didn't speak a lick of Japanese, we were just as bad as the ultranationalist murderers that ran Japan, and people assumed we were spies. Like, suddenly we're Japanese and not immigrants to America and Canada anymore because of that. And nobody ended up speaking up for us, so my family was just told to deal with it. I'm no fan of Israel but anti-semites just don't make a whole lot of sense when they start using it as a reason to pick on non-Israeli Jews. It's easy to say "do it yourself" when you have the gift of hindsight, if you ask me.
Well the whole idea behind much of modern antisemitism is that even non-Israeli Jews are in on the global conspiracy so there's no distinction between them at all.
That's the thing, though, isn't it? It's always "Dem dirty *minority* group are taking over the country." It's such a stupid idea. So basically are we back at the whole "Jews are running the banks taking your money" conspiracies of the middle ages?
I can change a noun to see how things go: Fact is, you aren't going to get improvement unless everybody is aware of painful realities in the past, such as that Europeans used to own people.
everyone is aware of the past. That constant reminder is one of the things which is actually driving said anti-semitism
or they're just kids with skinhead parents who carve swastikas into things and attack jew kids [editline]14th November 2013[/editline] or they're just nerds who think that the jew kids deserve it because of the headlines they see on facepunch
European antisemitism is usually semi passive and is more targeted at Israel than jews in general. What you'll see if generally jokes. Though you'll find anti national jokes targeting just about everyone. The most common racism you'll see in Europe will be targeting either Gypsies or immigrants. That's loud, strong and brutal racism. I find it interesting how it seems that the US is making a bigger deal of the passive antisemitism though.

This thread is about antisemitism, so we talk about the Jews. The next thread may be about the Roma, so we will talk about them.
I find all racism horrible. This thread is about antisemitism, so we talk about the Jews. The next thread may be about the Roma, so we will talk about them.
Sure, I still find it interesting how the news seem to be suddenly filled by this.
My dad (who is Jewish) was talking with his boss, and my dad's boss called his superiors "greedy jews" during their conversation, unbeknownst to him that my dad is Jewish. I feel that with non-jews something like this would seem very dismissible, but the fact is that it simply isn't nice and disregarding it as an insult is wrong.
Sure, I still find it interesting how the news seem to be suddenly filled by this.
It was just "filled" with threads about Roma people because of the kidnapping incident a few weeks ago.
everyone is aware of the past. That constant reminder is one of the things which is actually driving said anti-semitism
Does reminders about the slave trade, and racism towards Blacks, keep on driving those things in America?
antisemitism is as ingrained in european culture as antiziganism. its impossible to confront it when we have no understanding of ideology that drives that kind of racism.
I'm certain it's only european culture, Yup. (this is ignoring the fact that a lot of cultures owe their groundings to european culture and if you want to go further back european culture is based out of a lot of other things and has never really remained at a constant consensus, like any culture but sure whatever dude) [editline]15th November 2013[/editline] Hardly far from stating antisemitism is a problem (because it is) but come on you can hardly say that antisemitism has been ingrained in european culture, considering how fucking varied Europe is, on a mile-to-mile basis. I mean, I've never seen any antisemitism in action in England, whereas it might be prevalent in France, you know?
Apparently you cared enough to rate it disagree.
Someone who doesn't care about ratings might still rate someone if they know the person they are rating does care about them.
I'm certain it's only european culture, Yup.
never said it's only european culture but alright
I mean, I've never seen any antisemitism in action in England
that's where ive experienced the most antisemitism i say its ingrained precisely for this reason. most people don't even realise it, we don't notice it most of the time. but sure whatever dude
