:ohdear: this is looking pretty insane
If you knew that 9 where dead you should have known that at that point 72 where missing.
That's terrible logic.
QQ more leathery racists, the Pakistan floods affected more than 20 million people, that is, the entire population of Australia, and it received less media coverage. Call back when your natural disasters are noteworthy on an international level.
Well being near the largest natural disaster in the region in 40 years, possibly in history, it is news. Pakistan floods received far more media coverage and deservedly so, that doesn't make this any less horrible for those affected though.
My family is already looking after a friend's dog since they had to be evacuated, and my family lives about a four minute drive away from them... but we're more slightly uphill and further away from the river/creek than they are(they pretty much live right next to it).
This is actually kind of terrifying. I mean, I'm near Sydney and we're just chillin', but I'm worried about everyone in the flood areas. Australia's sinking :saddowns:
A few roads around here are under water, and our road in particular is close to having water on it on both ends of the street.
yeah but at least in brisbane you won't be murdered
How much of a pussy are you? Sydney isn't that rough.

If you show me footage of people blaming Pakistanis for the flood and spouting racial slur, then we'll talk.
My best friend lives in Toowoomba. I really hope she's okay.
Get singing then.
Okay. :smug:
My bro sim, is up on a hill in brissy, so he should be okay. Hope my other third oldest bro is alright, with his wife and child. Bad month to come down.
Fuck. They're shutting down the power at an around the CBD. I'm fucked.
I hope everyone who lives near/in this area is alright. We have flash floods near where I live, and I can tell you from first hand experience that sometimes just seeing your streets underwater is a really fucking scary experience.
:( I hope that everything turns out well in the end. If anyone who is from Austrailia needs any help after the flood with advice or free game then pm me and I will send something your way. It's bot much but it's the most I can do.
It is just sad waking up and watching this on the TV... http://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/ That has maps of where the flooding is going to hit... http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html
Okay. :smug:
I personally think people are overlooking this genius I am adding to the thread. Rest in Peace for the fallen.

My cousins live in Tooboomba...hope their shits alright
I know I'm going to get banned for this, I apologize in advance. But I really couldn't resist. This must be terrible for some of the people, their entire lively hood just swept away like that. But I think it would be fun paddling down a flooded street and setting camp on someone's roof.
But I think it would be fun paddling down a flooded street and setting camp on someone's roof.
If you ignored the terrible stench of sewerage, the heat and stickyness, the sense of hoplessness and fear that at any moment something terrible could happen, the fact the water is completely contaminated and the fact you have just lost everything.
It isn't as bad as 1974 anymore... that was just a prediction. I'm fine where I am, a few friends are trapped but the media is blowing this way out of proportion. It's getting as much coverage as 9/11 down here. [editline]13th January 2011[/editline] To be fair a lot of people have lost their homes though.
A WIN news reporter got emotional on live tv. She properly lost her home, or something.
I feel sorry for the people that got sucked down storm water drains, drowning in complete darkness.

Even though this is terrible; Wouldn't it be fun to go scubadiving in your own city?
If you consider drowning due to currents, sure.
It's so surreal seeing places you've been totally submerged in water I'm so glad I wasn't directly effected by this
I know it sucks for a lot of people, can't be easy losing that much over night but this stuff is still kinda cool. It's like nature taking back what it owns. Water is such a massive force, a pretty awesome force. Still sucks for the guys n gals effected.
