hey guys, its a tractor for crops why not have those tram power lines hanging above the farmland and have the tractor constantly draw power from that with like a 30 minutes buffer battery? the tractor would not even need refuelling etc.

Because not all work takes place over crop plots.

With the small one it would likely take hours to change them, with a large one you would need to haul out a forklift to change it. With traditional diesels you just need a tank with a hose.

Not practicable. The smaller your reactor the greater the enrichment level required. You'll eventually reach the point where you have to fuel your car with weapons grade material.
There definitely is a market for this. I don't see it replacing heavy use like harvesting and shit, but it might be better for tractors that are used in short periods of time to move equipment, mow, and such.
