Last I checked, Geoff Keighley didn't sleep with developers to advance his career.
Last time I checked no one was calling Dorito pope a whore and a slut because he slept with someone. And the list time I checked Doritogate didn't result in death threats, doxxing, and bomb threats, mostly against women.
Most people don't call someone a slut because the sleep with people. Most people simply couldn't care.
A Wikipedia bio doesn't really confirm anything about her.
I've watched her videos, and her stance on feminism is really awful. Her entire argument is that women just don't want to do "male" things, like sports, videogames, 9-5 business dude jobs, etc.
She's basically the 21st century's version of Phyllis Schlafly.
Are you kidding me? Those are all second wave feminism tenets. Those are the foundations that second wave built on.
This whole anti-GG thing fucking confuses me.
So, a female dev boinks some journo dudes, who cares.
She gets more exposure for boinking said journo dudes, cares a bit.
Journo dudes cover it up and said that the people pointing fingers are all misogynistic weenies.
How could you possibly EVER be against the GG movement, especially from a professional journalistic viewpoint.
It's like you're objectively wrong, but thinking you're in the right because you made up other factors that don't exist. Sure the death threats exist (on both sides cough cough) and sure some people are actually hateful (there's always hateful people in any group)
you are actually delusional, and it's funny because you're actually the one with hate. Whether it be from a victimization complex or anger from sheer boredom, you're the type of person who wants revenge, revenge on people who have done nothing wrong but want to see fairness in journalism. Using terrible acts and other's suffering to justify the shunning of a whole culture filled with progressive, smart, and nice people
shame on you.
I hope that most of the people of the Anti-GG side are just misinformed instead of really being all for oblivious corruption. It reminds me that the SJWs pretty much weaponized the ignorance of the average news reader these days, as shown at xoxofest, their yearly conference. It really feels like they have been planning this for a while.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/b1RrFIG.png[/t]
They know that not enough people are bothering researching the truth behind words, but the same people take whatever they say as truth.
Which is really fucking scary. It's like those SJWs want a Orwellian 1984's society, but with them as Big Sister instead of Big Brother.

One of these is a picture of the crowd from XOXOfest, the other is from EVO, the largest fighting game tournament in the world. Can you figure out which is which?

I hope you can spot the difference besides just from the controllers.
the one with the evo tshirts
You got me.
One's in a dingy warehouse, while the other is in a ballroom it looks like.
The most frustrating thing about GamerGate to me is just how completely misinterpreted it is by every media outlet in existence and how they are making it about misogyny (because thats a more understandable topic to the mass market audience). The ONLY new article about it that held any neutrality towards it and actually showed what the movement was about was a BBC article, and even then it was only after 2/3rds of the article talked about feminism.
Seriously, search "GamerGate" on google and every article is filled with this crap:

Completely misses the ENTIRE point of gamergate (corruption in game journalism headed by an extremely staunch, vocal feminists causing legitimate game developers and real supporters of women's rights in games to get shafted [FIRED] in favor of her personal friend group getting all the money and coverage), and paints a totally insulting and inaccurately childish picture of people who support it.
Shit like this is why people like Boogie are getting death threats. People who know absolutely nothing about it, read articles like the above on CNN, and just assume the whole thing is about gamers hating women and loving doritos causing a shitstorm when someone DARES to support women in games. That's a TOTAL bullshit fabrication on GamerGate that spawned because games media is corrupt and started spreading these accusations themselves - which is exactly what gamergate is really about. Its about how games journalism and media lacks almost all integrity with all this hard proof coming up a few months ago that proved that certain feminist game bloggers and developers were sleeping with people in the game journalism industry to spread their staunch anti-gamer views, videos and games. It was never about feminism or misogyny, it just happened to be the case that the person behind all the corruption in GamerGate is a feminist.
He's getting hate for one of his videos he posted 2-4 weeks back. Where he plays on the notion that there are people out there who honestly believe that ALL gamers are legitimately: basement dwelling, white, cis, virgins who get their kicks by being bigoted. Ala precisely what anti-GG people seem to believe. He then tells anyone who believes these aforementioned things that they are hypocrites; and that he is a living, breathing example of why they are incorrect. It's not hard to see why he's getting flamed.
ah i never saw that video. i'll have to watch it. death threats are never acceptable for anyone, especially boogie.
It is true that women are simply not interested in joining certain industries, primarily technology-based ones. However, that is not to say that there isn't an influence behind this. The reason why women aren't interested is because they were raised in a social environment where they were taught to enter a certain field. This mostly comes from parents and peers, and not necessarily the industries themselves. It is not because these industries are inherently against women, that would be silly to assume. It is because women were taught not to bother with such things. Who is to blame in this matter? Well, from a sociological perspective, everyone is at fault. Whether an industry is male or female dominated isn't the result of just a patriarchal influence, it is the combined effort of both genders encouraging gender-respective jobs. Whether these jobs represent further sexism (i.e. women in cosmetology because "beauty" is a woman's job, or men in construction because "lifting and building things" is a man's job) or not is certainly up for observation, it is important to note that the cause of these isn't solely men to blame. This sociological perspective is an entirely justified branch of Feminism. No one cares if you think it sucks.
This is so true. I remember when I was young I told my Mom I wanted to be a secretary when I grow up. She pretty much told me "No you don't"

and the fact that a bunch of white people went to hear some random girl talk about how shit their ethics are I guess.
"Just last night I deleted a youtube comment from a user who posted my home address
how do all these people involved in GG (both sides) get their home addresses discovered so easily?
okay so I got a thing to say about GG
If the message behind GG is fixing game journalism, how come the majority of people went after zoe quinn instead of the journalist who allegedly gave her game a good score? it is the JOURNALIST's responsibility to have an unbiased outlook on everything, not his girlfriend.
i bet the FBI finds out its like one guy doing this

But all three were responsible. And that was in the very beginning, before the rest really came out.
It exists because of the Zoe Post, but not for the Zoe Post. It was just was the crack in the armor that let out the rest. At first people just found it funny and generally dubious, and wanted something done about her relationships with the two guys in the press. But it was the response from the gaming press that set off the alarm bells and sent people to investigate why they were all acting like this. What it turned up is what is responsible for the movement though. Zoe Post was instrumental in the movement starting, it was a catalyst, but its not what the movement is about.
That was you just focusing on Zoe shit.

Save it, you got nothing of value to say. Admit it, you're just shitposting for the sake of it. It's pretty evident that you can't get the piss out of people, so why even bother?

The problem is, there's very little evidence for any of that. It's often impossible to distinguish biological causes from social causes when you can't separate the variables (we don't have any un-socialising people to experiment with). And whilst it's probably true that some of these differences are socially caused, it's highly likely that a lot of them are just biological.
A good example of this is the predominance of women in different sciences. 100 years ago, women were discouraged from going into ALL scientific fields. So you have a sort of even field for testing. It just wasn't considered a legitimate thing for women to do. Then after the women's rights movement changes everything, it's now considered acceptable (in the west) for women to go into any field they choose. If you look at what happened to the demographics in the different sciences, it's quite remarkable. Fields like biology, psychology, chemistry (to a smaller extent) had a huge influx of women. I think biology in the modern day is actually a majority female field.
However, you look at physics, mathematics and engineering. It hardly changed at all. These are still around 90% male fields.
It's very hard to take a definitive message from that but I think the most likely explanation is that the tendency to be attracted to these different fields is down to biology. For the socialising theory to explain it, you'd have to concoct something a lot more elaborate that was operating on a number of different layers. Not impossible, but certainly more implausible.

You're definitely right that the journalist is the main problem that needs to be solved. But I think people tend to have a more visceral dislike of the girl in that situation because was doing the exact same thing that the feminist movement who defended her claim to despise (just in reverse). She was using her gender to get privileges instead of earning them by the actual quality of her work. So there's a hypocrisy element and if the particular feminists who defend her were really genuine about their belief system, they should hate her more than anyone (which of course they don't because they're operating on pure tribalism at that point).
