Right now the consoles are pretty much on par (bar the netflix etc for gold only stuff)
Also not forgetting that the Xbox One is still considerably more expensive than the PS4.
now available as a $200 addon, 90% of games require kinect to play
when someone has to do this much backpedeling and reversing in order to sell me a product then they have already lost my intrest.
So at what point can we call this the Xbox 180?
But... I thought they said it wouldn't be able to work with out Kinect, they also said the same about the always online.

I like it when companies listen, that's what makes Valve so fun.

I'm sure they haven't started mass production of the consoles and can change whatever they need to.
Verdict: Too late.
They're helping their sales, by helping the potential buyers. Why would they purposely release a console which they know will hurt them economically? They listened to feedback, and changed what they needed in order to make it better for the good of the people, which also potentially helped their sales.
They only did that once they realised that they couldn't get away with the insanity that they were pushing. Originally, they were not willing to budge at all, since they were convinced that they would still have enough sales from their die-hard fans. This is probably the best example of their stubbornness.
They listened a changed a product that's in development.
The PSN+ requirement is a big deal, especially since Microsoft is offering free games with gold as well. The common argument will be the quality of the games, but that discussion shouldn't even really happen until the Xbone comes out.
Oh god, it will be almost as if consoles are made to support games, as opposed to the other way around!

Who's to say Microsoft won't switch back to always online after release.
Yeah just the fact that Microsoft thought this was a good idea will no longer make me buy any products from them.
Don't blame all of Microsoft for something the xbox division did
Both consoles will sell just fine. The real result is that you and I will have a better Xbox One because of it. The PSN+ requirement is a big deal, especially since Microsoft is offering free games with gold as well. The common argument will be the quality of the games, but that discussion shouldn't even really happen until the Xbone comes out.
So far they have released 2 ancient games while PS+ poops out like 5 games per month which are pretty recent. [editline]12th August 2013[/editline] Also in terms of multiplayer play, as far as i know have developers the option to make multiplayer PS+ only or not. Free 2 Play games and MMO's are going to be for everyone for sure.

The only reason one feels colder than the other is because that's what the internet has been saying since 360's release.
Oh god, it will be almost as if consoles are made to support games, as opposed to the other way around!
I'm not one to judge a service the first few months it's out. That's why I waited to get my uncle a year of PSN+ instead of dismissing it from the beginning.
Why is everyone saying the damage has already been done when the consoles haven't even released yet? First off everyone complained and wanted change, but now that Microsoft has changed everyone ignores it. They've always said that their policies are subject to change. I'm sure if Sony changes anything bout their console for the good of their consumer, you'd all be riding their dicks.
That is because there is a difference between back pedaling and actually improving a product.
The console isn't even released yet, so how is it too late?
The massive badwill won't change with another feature flip-flop, the damage has been done.
So does Sony, Nintendo, and every single console manufacturer that ever existed.
nintendo does honestly care about making good games to a large degree. iwata is a game dev himself. he worked on the kirby series and worked with itoi on earthbound and a little bit of mother 3's writing process (i think he sat and listened and gave his opinions? him and itoi are good friends) i don't know why everyone's of the opinion that these companies are solely about profit. some of the people involved do give a shit about what they do. they wouldn't be in the business otherwise; game development is notoriously hard and shitty work
Also, does the whole "Damage Already Done" argument not apply to Ubisoft seeing as most of their games do great?
All of this flip-flopping and bullshit marketing has sealed the deal for me.. I'm sticking with my computer and refusing to buy any next-gen console.
I wish I could give you more agree ratings. Exactly this.
I m sorry to break it to you guys but the console market will be decided by services and family access ability, the last generation was won by the Wii, counted by profit and sales, my granny plays Facebook games now and that's just telling us that the better all around package will win, not the hardcore experience.
The reason I'm not going to buy an xbox one (if I even buy a next gen at all) is because Microsoft tried to pull their shit to begin with. Yeah ok, good for them for bettering their product but I would have had different opinions if it had been so out of the gate instead of them backpedaling on everything.

I'm sure if Sony changes anything bout their console for the good of their consumer, you'd all be riding their dicks.
The damage was done when they decided to make the most terrible console imaginable. Personally I will not be buying the Xbox One because while it may have a couple good games at launch, look at how it's been for the Xbox 360 versus the PS3. They're going after the "bro gamers" and "family" audiences and they've released nothing but kinect titles and sequels to Gears of War, Forza and Halo, as seen here. [t]http://i.imgur.com/n1bJkxG.jpg[/t]
I'm sure if Sony goes along and says "PSN is now free again," everyone would be happy, even if it's going against what they said the first time announcing the console. PSN requiring PS+ is a negative idea, which may not affect everyone, but some people who played their PS3s online only because it didn't require a monthly/yearly subscription.
Thing is though, the benefits of PS+ outweighs the $4.99 a month, easily. Free games, discounts on games/DLC, exclusive content, additional benefits such as cloud saving and cross-game chat. I mean this month, we just got Hitman Absolution and BitTripRunner 2.
This news has actually made the Xbox One drop in ranking on Amazon's top selling video games list from 36 to 39. Edit: HOLY GUACAMOLE, it just dropped to 45. Go check for yourself. http://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-video-games/zgbs/videogames#3 This is also Amazon USA, where the Xbox should be dominating.
They listened a changed a product that's in development. I like it when companies listen, that's what makes Valve so fun.
No, at first Microsoft was trying to shove unnecessary crap into their console, saying consumers didn't know better. They said it'd be the future of gaming, especially after removing the DRM crap. They didn't listen to anyone technically, they just realized if they didn't try atleast to get their shit together, that no one would buy it. Yeah, both Sony and Microsoft are fucking companies. We get it. Except Sony actually listened to what people didn't like about the Xbox One (not that difficult, I know), but they've been planning to make the PS4 developer friendly ever since they released the PS3.
Damnit, all this good new is invalidating the name joke. Why'd they call it the xbox one? 'cause you turn one pi radians and walk away.
I'm getting an Xbox One because none of the PS4 games appeal to me.
Seems microsoft can never do any right in the front of facepunches eyes.
