Only because Gabe was introduced to the Sony Playstation VP of sharpening things.
I don't get why Valve is so opposed to portables anyway. Seems uncharacteristic after they jumped onto the PS2 right away with Half Life as a launch title and consolized the L4D games like it was nobody's business. I mean, more exposure is more exposure, especially with how powerful the Vita is - And it's not like the PSP was something to be scoffed at either considering the guys working on Conscript seem to be so dedicated to having it on PSP. Valve is legitimately missing an opportunity.
I won't bitch though - Not unless Valve pulls an R* and goes straight to phones for portable ventures while ignoring the Vita and 3DS. Still waiting on San Andreas Portable on Vita, R*! If phones can do it, so can that.

Doesn't stop him from releasing Gmod on Steam on Android, does it?
If so, my bad.
If not, it's still a hopeful dream in my opinion because lua and java do not mix well.

I'm sure there could be a few hacks to fix it, or perhaps get a lua engine running on Android, but still.

which makes it very fortunate that android is entirely capable of running linux binaries?
Imagine playing HL2 and when you are in a life or death firefight Alyx sexts you on your Android mobile phone or tablet! Do you continue to fight or answer your phone? Either way it's going to be a climactic moment.
Source games on Android especially with mods will be a game changer.
Hopefully Valves plan of bringing Dota 2 onto tablets will soon be realized and together with this we will see Valves baby steps into the mobile platform, it has a lot of potential for them and us.
gameplay would be annoying but i could see a spectator app doing really well, especially during the international
