When I was a kid I wanted to grow up and be a game developer. Now I'm 19, in a CS program. If I had to work in the game dev industry I think I'd shoot myself at this point
With attitudes like that the industry won't get better. People who want to go into the industry should want to improve it instead of getting bummed out due to events like this.
The Escapist with their integrity? The website that makes you pay money to watch their videos in anything about 480p?

How high resolution do you really need to watch fat guys on podiums and stickmen on yellow backgrounds?
I think it's worth bringing up again that Zoe wasn't the only developer of Depression Quest.
Sort of off topic but I find that Depression Quest taking more then one person to develop is pretty depressing.

We need to see every detail of that bored looking guy that appears in Zero Punctuation.
By stopped talking about it do you mean posted something along the lines of "Lol I guess we accidentally DDOSd them"?
did it occur to anyone that maybe they should report to the authorities with evidence of zoe quinn admitting to doing an illegal act?
because she'd have to have a fucking hamburger for a brain to do that.

That's been going on behind the scenes. We've got a couple of reports of lawyers getting involved on various issues but it really isn't in anyone's best interest from a legal perspective to go and brag about what you have on someone else. TFYC talked to Quinn and some lawyers and publicly released a statement. Quinn pretty much threw someone else under the bus and I wouldn't be surprised if they were pursuing something behind the scenes.
The more things are hyped up before a hearing the harder it is to have a hearing.
zoe claimed that they were against transgender women. in actuality, tfyc had consulted with a canadian ethics board or something and they had said the safest thing to be was "unless you have documentation from DMV or other similar body indicating you as a recognized female, we will not accept it" it wasn't because they disliked transgender people, it was for the transgender person's safety, as them participating in a women only contest could be used as evidence as them being a transgender person.
after the backlash, which i don't think was deserved, they revised their policy to be self identified before a certain date.
Not even revised, they just clarified it so no-one could misrepresent the meaning any more.
It didn't stop Quinn and Kramer from still harassing the company after that though.
