Ha, we should definitely follow the medical advice of the Middle Ages. You know, because they were so healthy and not dead.
Honestly, the rich fat people in the middle ages were probably the few who could actually be classified as healthy.
I read, "Medieval munchies" in the title. Thought of weed.
Man, I loved horrible history and had a subscription to horrible science.
Oh this is such bullshit. The peasants had the build of an average mexican migrant worker, even shorter probablly. Knights and Roman Legionarres were built more like your rugby players, not the other way around. Legionarres were probablly even more heavily built, probablly around 6'2 and the body of an american footbal linebacker. The average roman was about 5'7 and average built, assuming you survived an early childhood in a ruthless social enviorment. Peasants were short, stout, and had to grow into hard labor, they're bodies were short, they were tough, but also dumb, and uneducated. Everyday was a struggle to survive, yet you were still expected to survive till 50-65, assuming you managed to avoid an epidemic or a virulent flu, or a war with the then customary pillaging. They were likely the around 5'4 in height, very short, didn't eat a lot, suffered under famines, got conscripted and patronized by their lords, kings, and leaders, short, dumb, tough, hospitable, and kind, and probablly were extremely conservative in their outlook. The diet sounds right though.

I came in here expecting hilarious pictures of cartoon knights and their various shenanigans I'm dissapointed Anywho, it's interesting considering that every bit of food was scavenged and farmed personally, it must of been satisfying to reap a harvest for yourself.
Actually I'd say it was more likely your average peasant was comparable to a holocaust survivor.
No they're only counting people in the middle ages and everyone knows peasants aren't people
Sounds delicious
