Locking something everyone is asking for that seems very simple to implement behind a stretch goal twice the amount they're asking for is bullshit.

The problem is that you're not qualified to know how much it's going to cost them to develop a feature.

better get donating, if it hit 100k in one day, I bet it'll go way over 200k

Neither are you.
Better animations don't cost twenty thousand dollars, especially for an indie game like this. Let alone a whole 100,000$ for a replay mode. Utterly absurd.

$20k is less than half a person's salary for a year, and that doesn't include the cost of job benefits, an office computer, software, etc. in reality $20k pays a couple of months worth of labor.

I'm on the wrong fucking career path.

You're forgetting that whoever they hire doesn't need to work on animations from scratch, all he has to do is improve existing ones. And even then, an 'office computer' and 'software' shouldn't be the responsibility of the consumer. It's entirely the responsibility of the company to provide the bare essentials needed to employ workers.

Where does that money for the laptop and software come from?

None of it is the responsibility of the consumer. That's why the stretch goals are like a bonus/not necessary to begin with. Kickstarter is voluntary.
Dubai prince sure loves superhot.
Or a very rich indie enthusiast. Notch once pledged 10.000 to a kickstarter and forgot about it, never collected the prize.
Holy Guacamole it looks fun to play.

This is literally what kickstarter exists for. Think about the term crowd-funding for a second. You're directly funding the game so they can do this stuff.
Jumped on the hypewagon and avatarized it. bring it on!
It'd be awesome if they added a way to let you see how you played the level at full-speed.
It'd probably end up looking like a scene from Equilibrium.

They hit $120k
that was fast, or, dare i say it, SUPER HOT.
I bet it'll hit 200K in like, a week tops.
omg
20,000 dollars for an animation job is actually relatively cheap when it comes to games
even more so when you consider the amount of animations they'll probably be getting
To be fair, probably not all of that $20k is going directly to animations. Usually stretch goals are just incentives, and not the sole reasons to need more money, but just putting a stretch goal for "make the game somewhat more polished and also make it come out 2 weeks later than normal" doesn't sound very good as an incentive.
I played the demo and the novelty of the game sorta wore out fast for me.... I wish them luck, though.
Probably because it is really basic, I'm sure they'd expand on this better with a proper team and funding

if it isnt then they're drastically underpaying an already underpaid animator lol
Super hot broke on my PC and I had to play it full speed
