oh nintendo, you used to lead us with making fabulous games for the super nintendo like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and Legend of Zelda. When will you make a console to become home to massive amount of RPG's and Platformers like in the past?
lol we're talking about mario here.
and outside of galaxy 1 and 2 pretty much every mario game is incredibly distinct from its peers, in comparison to other major franchises [editline]30th November 2011[/editline]
oh nintendo, you used to lead us with making fabulous games for the super nintendo like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and Legend of Zelda. And the few times he has gone out of his current strategy in favour of the demographic I'm in, it's blown way back in his face. Y'all know that game I'm talking about. That other game.
Other M gets a lot of unwarranted hate, I think. Unwarranted from a gameplay perspective, at least. The story is pure trash and a disgrace to the series, but if you completely ignore that it's a fantastic mixture of Metroid's 2D incarnations and Prime.
I will never forgive him for declining the offer to make a Sonichu game from Chris.
True. I got Nintendo to thank for, because their games teached me the english language.
Obviously not very well [editline]1st December 2011[/editline] Seriously though, I've spoken english ever since I was a baby since my dad is american, but I learnt how to read english from Pokémon games. Hell yes.
OH WOW FIRST NOW HE NOTICES IT. Nintendo is going deeper and deeper in the pit of being inferior to their competetors. They need to pull their head out of their asses and do what Sony and Microsoft do if they want to survive any longer.
Yea, make me pay 8$ a month for simply owning a wii put advertisements in my face whenever I turn on my console.
Hey, remember EarthBound? Yeah, nintendo's forgotten series.
lol we're talking about mario here.
Play super mario land, it was like somebody was high while developing it [editline]1st December 2011[/editline]
Hey, remember EarthBound? Yeah, nintendo's forgotten series.
Metroid was forgotten for quite some time
Hey, remember EarthBound? Yeah, nintendo's forgotten series.
So forgotten in fact, that they never even released the third one in the USA. It brings tears to my eyes how Lucas was included in Brawl (one of my favorite characters, in fact), yet his game wasn't released outside of Japan. But that aside, I respect Nintendo. Yeah, they sell out to anybody that pitches them a game about some plastic children's toy or some animated movie, but they push out some really great products when they want to. Not everyone is perfect, and I don't expect Nintendo to be. Anyway, I hope now that Miyamoto admits this, he will continue to work to better the biggest videogame software company ever, but still retain its quality and values.

Now that just fucking blows.
It brings tears to my eyes how Lucas was included in Brawl (one of my favorite characters, in fact), yet his game wasn't released outside of Japan.
Go cry into the goddamned rain, we never got a MOTHER game. [editline]1st December 2011[/editline]
Hey, remember EarthBound? Yeah, nintendo's forgotten series.
The reason there are only three games in the series is because Itoi knew when he wanted to stop.
Metroid was forgotten for quite some time
If they made a good sequel to metroid prime games (the last one for the wii was meh), I would be rather happy. I still cannot get over the record for beating that game. 1 hour and 9 minutes.
Hey, remember EarthBound? Yeah, nintendo's forgotten series.
Copyright ahoy.
The fact that he recognizes this shows that he's a FANTASTIC boss.
Play super mario land, it was like somebody was high while developing it [editline]1st December 2011[/editline] Metroid was forgotten for quite some time
F-Zero is now in a longer hiatus than Metroid was in its long dry spell, IIRC. Sad.
F-Zero is now in a longer hiatus than Metroid was in its long dry spell, IIRC. Sad.
I fucking love F-Zero, I really hope they haven't abandoned it, because GX is one of my favourite games on the Gamecube.
I honestly can't defend him because he had the power and ability to oppose the Wii entirely. The approach just fucked over the people who played Nintendo games for years in the name of accessibility and casual gaming.

He doesn't spearhead every single project they do. Metroid is not Miyamoto's territory. The only Metroids he ever worked on were Metroid Prime 1 and 2. Other M was done by Yoshio Sakamoto, who directed every Metroid since Metroid II (sans the Primes).
Japanese CEO's are very respectable, in 2008, a Japanese Airlines CEO cut his salary down to the average workers salary so he wouldn't have to fire anyone.
You know hell has frozen over if this ever happens in the US.
Miyamoto just scares the living shit out of me, no idea why, I think I have a phobia of miyamotos :v:
Reminds me of: [thumb]http://images.wikia.com/zelda/images/a/a3/Angry_Mask_Salesman_(Ocarina_of_Time).png[/thumb]
Afaik, the mask salesmans face is a caricature of miyamoto.
He's a Japanese CEO who learned in the old ways which combined that Samurai like honor with business practice. Unfortunately that's a dieing breed in Japan and is no longer taught. Instead they're taught like American business students and that is to say, "FUCK THE CONSUMER AND MY EMPLOYEES! MOOOONEY!"
