• Harry Styles: "One Direction are bigger than the Beatles"

The Beatles said they were bigger than Jesus, and One Direction says they're bigger than The Beatles. Thus: One Direction not only believes they're bigger than Jesus, they believe that they're several orders of magnitude bigger than Jesus. Clearly these British prettyboys are trying to corrupt the youth and make them worship Satan. Tell your local pastor to spread the word: One Direction are satanists who want to devour your children.
-snip- Never heard of them.
I can't believe he said that. What. He thinks he's better than The Beatles? Can he hurtle lightening bolts like Paul McCartney could?? Is it even possible for him to comprehend the deep and studied complexity that is Ringo Starr's soul/music fusing drumming styles? Did he ever get the blessings of all animals in the world plus the Dalai Lama and all 39 known Bene Gesserit witches in this system like John Lennon did before he was forcibly taken from us to answer the call of another universe in greater need of saving than our own? Has One Direction even produced a single demigod as an accumulative body like The Beatles had? Step down Harry Styles you are fucking nothing.
The Beatles' lyrics in their early years were the same sort of fluff that One Direction uses today. IMO The Beatles are highly overrated.
Say that to the strawberries.

But with Rubber Soul and onward, they innovated rock music and definitely matured far beyond that boy band image. I doubt Harry Stiles will be writing lyrics or music close to what Lennon would
you should get out more
no thanks i'm fine never watching tv or listening to the radio and just sitting in the dark listening to sgt peppers lonely hearts club band on repeat (well, maybe i switch it up by putting dark side of the moon on every so often)
music died int he year 1999
Say that to the strawberries.
He said their early years.
The guy is just very dim. You can tell because he apparently counts what is going on now with his group as compared to what happened back then with the Beatles. That's simply wrong. Imagine if something like the internet existed back then. The Beatles would have crashed the internet, all the bandwidth would have been sucked up by music filesharing, photo and video uploading/downloading, etc about them. They would have been over a billion views per video on Youtube. This guy would be smart if he had compared his group to boy bands like Nsync instead. That's where they fit in.
music died int he year 1999
Gotta love narrow minded people, so, mr frozensoda, music died in the year 1999? 2011 2012 2013 2013 2011 2013 If none of these songs do anything for you, I can only imagine what kind of person you are. Regardless of what time they specify, people who say "music died in x year" have to be some kind of boring, empty shell with no possibility to opening their minds to new music.
music died int he year 1999
Yeah because grunge was so great
Who the fuck is One Direction?
A band that sells sex to girls in the same way Zac Efron, Justin Bieber, Twilight vampires, and Jonas Brothers do. It's sad that I know that and One Direction isn't worth knowing considering that their fan base consists of females too young to know what quality music is.
holy shit he's joking
They know they're not as good as the Beatles, they're just comparing their popularity. I think he's wrong in that respect as well, but I wasn't exactly around when the Beatles came to America so I wouldn't know.
He's probably right, though I think you have to look at it relatively speaking. Beatles got famous without internet and were one of the biggest bands of all-time.
Gotta love narrow minded people, so, mr frozensoda, music died in the year 1999? If none of these songs do anything for you, I can only imagine what kind of person you are. Regardless of what time they specify, people who say "music died in x year" have to be some kind of boring, empty shell with no possibility to opening their minds to new music.
Yeah, those darn narrow minded people that don't like the music Dead Madman likes??
Yeah, those darn narrow minded people that don't like the music Dead Madman likes??
Congrats, you missed his point. Hell, you're interpreting it the exact opposite way it's meant: Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's bad or that music is dead.
Ya, when the beatles played, the population of the earth was not so high as of right now.
The guy has one Hell of an ego, I'll give him that... Too bad that's a pitifully ignorant statement.
Not really, I mean yeah it may seem like shit music to us but to be honest they have a fucking huge fan base that consists of mostly rabid young girls, and that fan base might very well be larger than that of the beatles.
Congrats, you missed his point. Hell, you're interpreting it the exact opposite way it's meant: Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's bad or that music is dead.
And what if Frozensoda didn't like any of the songs Madman listed?
And what if Frozensoda didn't like any of the songs Madman listed?
What about it? Does that instantly mean all music past 1999 is shit?
ok so there's about double the people on earth since 1960, so, chances are, there's nearly double the amount of stupid people on earth who would consider themselves 1d fans
What about it? Does that instantly mean all music past 1999 is shit?
It means Madman hasn't really made any point.
I wonder if in 50 years time people will look back on 1D like they do the beatles now.
What about it? Does that instantly mean all music past 1999 is shit?
It means that people have opinions?
I wonder if in 50 years time people will look back on 1D like then do the beatles now.
Probably. Though we'll never admit it.
