Holy shit, lucky kid. Wonder how this'll effect his growth as he gets older. They said he'll be perfectly fine now, but it still makes me wonder if complications could arise. Why post in a thread if you haven't even read the article?
If the brain is anything to go by, young cells regenerate pretty quickly and quite effectively, granted everything is put together quickly to prevent infarctions. Unfortunately, the kid will probably have to go in for frequent visits to make sure all the wires are connected. Might experience sensation loss at some point. It'd be terrifying as fuck knowing you were basically decapped and put back together. I just hope everything works out for the kid in the end :c
First ten seconds of the video in OP's link shows him walking.
I read the post linked in the OP, but I didn't watch the video because I was on mobile. Also walking is a spinal reflex anyways, but whatever.
That is why you read the source instead of just the OP.
who the fuck actually does this though
who the fuck actually does this though
Anyone with a fucking brain
This kid will have such a cool story to tell. "Yeah my head detached from my body when I was a toddler in a car crash"
That's some Black Jack tier shit right there.
its amazing how much the medical world has improved in the past 50 or so years just imagine telling someone at the start of the 20th century that surgeons just saved a fucking decapitated baby
You could literally die from stepping on something sharp at the start of the 20th century
when that kid grows up and his parents tell him that he lost his fucking head as a baby.... how do you even react
To reply to this and every other comment about "losing your head" or "decapitated babies" etc., you should be aware this is not like they found the head completely separate from the body and sewed it all back on or something. Internal decapitation is the internal severing of the brain from the spinal cord, usually with the skull yanked away from the vertebrae or something like that. From outside you can't really tell an anatomical difference a lot of the time. First thought I had is that the paramedics that got the kid must have been amazing to have transported him well enough to not kill him.
This is why its pointless to own a new car they can't handle a crash because if they can't handle an impact of 140 it's a waste of time.
you have no idea how physics work
wasnt that crazy. His head didnt actually come off. His head just separated from his spine internally, so techniqually decapitation, but head still attached. The fact he looks normal and smiling as a baby and walking is fucking insane. Thought I was gonna come in and see a baby in a vegetated state.
'wasnt that crazy' lmao, internal decapitations are just as bad as full decapitations except for the fact your head is still technically attached. your chances of survival are still astronomically low bud
this is literally something out of futurama :v: only in that case they sewed the body backwards
guys his head wasn't like lying on the ground somewhere this was an internal decapitation, his neck broke but the spinal cords stayed attached
'wasnt that crazy' lmao, internal decapitations are just as bad as full decapitations except for the fact your head is still technically attached. your chances of survival are still astronomically low bud
The survival rate of complete decapitations is exactly 0%, which you will notice is a significantly worse prognosis than just about anything.
kids a little frankenstein at the moment lol
