They could make it follow Saren and his story. After all, he is never really explained in detail in the game. It could follow him during the First Contact War, then the events up to him finding Sovereign. The whole thing has the potential to be amazing, and I've got faith in the people working on it.
I hope that it is in the same timeframe as the books Ascension and Revelation.
They'll probably replace major aliens with humans.
I still say they should just base it on one of the books.
Mass Effect feels like a movie enough to be honest.

Hell, even if it sucks I am totally going to go see it, and ME will still be one of my favorite game series of all time.

Well, at least it isn't done by Uwe Boll...
However, the script is being written by the guy who did I am Legend.
And though I am Legend was not a bad movie, they changed the ending, because it was too controversial.
By doing that they pretty much changed the entire story, so that it had nothing to do with the book anymore and the name "I am Legend" makes no sense at all.
They should have made up their own storyline in the ME universe that still follows canon

As long as it has nothing to do with Shepard, I could see a really interesting movie being made in this universe. They just can't conflict with any of the possible game story lines, it'll break the immersion.
I'm really excited for this one. I hope they can get Drew Carpyshyn to overlook the screenplay.
