True. I mean Like some tribal religions will still be around.
I mean Look at China, they are Atheists but they still pray to Buddha.
So yeah This is still a pretty cool find.
buddhism is an atheistic religion anyway
religion doesn't always need a god
also buddhism isn't a majority religion in china anyway
To be Honest, This won't change that much.
Even if it does Religion is dying, It will be gone by the end of the century or so.
I don't think so. It could be if all countries of the world become fully developed and westernized.
How the heck do you even open the last one?!
It is bound by powerful magic!

Atheism is also the disbelief of any supernatural beings AFAIK. Buddhist cosmos is filled with "semi-gods", "super-humans", "upper dimensions" etc'. Look it up.

No, just gods.
In a perfect world there are no -isms.

Pray to buddha?
Dude, you could atleast go on wikipedia and skim through the "buddhism" entry before talking about it.

In a perfect world there are no humans
In a perfect world there are no humans
wow you're pretty edgy and cool
i wonder where you got that from!
I find religious stories very interesting, wonder if I should read the bible for what I could learn. Not that I would follow religion or take it as literal fact, just a guide in what parts I agree with.
Besides, an athiest with interests in religious ideas, rather than believing them, would have pretty good arguements to back them up. "I read the bible, and you haven't but you follow it? Isn't that foolishly blind?"
Its funny how so many people jumped to the conclusion that this disproves "religion," where through the eyes of an actual theologian, this just enhances or captivates his own understanding of his faith. I wonder how many people even looked into the contents of these tablets.
What exactly are the dead sea scrolls?
Wikipedia is pretty cool
Most people are already at god something or other. Problem with religion is everything in it is pretty much corrupt now.
Religion has been corrupt since the Spanish Inquisition and probably before that, having everything in control, basically being more important than the Monarchy of a country in past centuries.
also buddhism isn't a majority religion in china anyway
Yes it is.
In fact, according to wikipedia it's
the most popular single religion in China since its introduction in the 1st century

Religion has been corrupt since the Spanish Inquisition and probably before that, having everything in control, basically being more important than the Monarchy of a country in past centuries.
Monarchies were never corrupt?(Hint:The whole idea needed religion)
In a perfect world there are no humans
So why aren't you killing yourself then
practice what you preach
Monarchies were never corrupt?(Hint:The whole idea needed religion)
Precisely, the whole divine right thing wasn't just a footnote.

He would only do that if he wanted a perfect world - as he is human, and imperfect, it is plausible that he doesn't even want a perfect world.
And thus has no need to kill himself.
what if this actually disproves Christianity?
also, fuck Christianity
how come they havent rusted into tiny tiny paritcles
I see, just the usual teenage angst in here.
Metal books eh?
Nice to finally see some proof for the existence of dwarfs!
"And lo! Jesus did live at 87 Benjamin Street. You take a left at the Church of the Nativity and go east for about half a mile until you get to the old walls. The orange brick is a bit loose; jiggle it about a bit and an SD card will fall out. It's got a video of Him turning water into wine."

There are so much interesting stuff in the history of a lot of religions and religious texts. For example: The Torah was a collaboration between multiple Jewish groups with different stories of what happened. These stories were orally passed down. This is why there is more than one creation story in the book. I believe that in The Bible they summed it down to one.
Also if you look at a lot of other religions, there are a lot of different arguments being made in the major texts. The Odyssey describes that the Gods have a direct connection to humans and that they purposely care about human affairs. But in The Aenied, the same story is pretty much told, but in a way to show that the Gods do not have a direct role in human life. These kind of arguments being made back and forth had a huge impact.
There are a lot of people that despise The Confessions of St. Augustine because that ultimately changed how the Christian God was viewed. In much of the old testament he is angry and not very forgiving. In the new testament, there is a good change, and St. Augustine embraced this which highlighted the concept that God is a loving and giving being. There are some pretty big contradictions in the way God is viewed, and a lot of this is caused by different opinions and different texts.
i really don't care about people believing in a god/higher power. i however think that following a religion is just plain stupid. have your own beliefs, you don't need to donate to churches, "god" doesn't want your money. you don't need to listen to a priest either.

I'm hoping more that it's more of an original Bible. Then the number one selling book in history will stop selling and this one will sky rocket in it's place! Muahaha Metal Books for everybody!!!
Then they get locked in the Vatican archive and we never see them again because they're not "Canon". Doubtless that there are multiple documents locked away down there that go against Christianity.
Honestly, I can't wait for Christianity to fall so we can get whatever is in there.

Angels and Demons wasn't true, you can request anything from the Vatican archives at any time apparently.
