Scientists are sitting around going "Okay, we are definitely sure that Christianity existed. Can we get back to inventing important shit now?"

I love how it's automatically dumb and worthless because it's related to Christianity.

why would a historian or scholar invent anything?
it isnt like we have a bunch of rocket scientists and physicists analyzing this shit
I wonder if they ship Jesus with Mary Magdalene.
I wonder if they ship Jesus with Mary Magdalene.
No, Mary Magdalene ships separately from Jesus. But however "The Crucifixion" action set, which comes with Pontius Pilate, Judas Escariot, Mother Mary, and Crucifixion-Time Jesus contains a coupon that takes half of the price of Magdalene.
How the heck do you even open the last one?!
You don't. At least, you weren't supposed to.
Angels and Demons wasn't true, you can request anything from the Vatican archives at any time apparently.
I've never read the books or seen the movies. I'm simply going off what I was told in a Church History class I took in highschool. The highschool is a Catholic prep school and the class was taught by a Jesuit.
The Church does, or a least did, collect documents pertaining to Christianity and only documents that fulfill a subjective criteria are actually put in the Bible. The rest are stored in the archives.
The Church "Canon" is a hilarious example of circular logic.
Things only go in the Bible if they were "inspired by God".
However, our idea of what God inspires is dictated by what's in the Bible!

These obviously came from the workings of Ancient Aliens

Because back then it was impossible to melt lead and bang some markings into it. What next? Aliens built the Pyramids? HA!
This only proves what we already know. All it says is that people back then believed in the bible. We already knew that. Now lets see something that is older then 6000 years so that we can see if that is really when the earth was created. When the bible says the earth is supposedly created people at the time were already perfecting agriculture and the ancient Chinese were starting to write things down. Not only that but they also found flutes in china that date 9000 years proving not only there were people but they were cultured enough to have music.
Just because someone along time ago said something still does not make it true.
Edit: Sause

Scientists wouldn't be studying it... Historians would...

This seems rather off topic. The story here isn't that what is in the books would make The Bible true, it is more that it could potentially have a big change about the history surrounding Jesus and Christianity. It is alright if you disagree with The Bible or religion in general, but this whole story is about Biblical history which is a widely researched topic.
If these books have good messages, then praise the Lord for giving us his word.
If they aren't good messages, don't believe them as they are just the Lord testing us, or the devil deceiving us.
Here's what's gonna happen.
If those say pretty much what the bible does, they will be proof of Jesus, God, etc.
If they don't, it's blasphemy.

Go back to your ten commandments, last I checked, they were in stone.
Holy shit, theres a God
Scientists wouldn't be studying it... Historians would...
No, archaeologists or anthropologists would. Archaeology and anthropology are sciences. But his point is still dumb its not like that branch of science invents shit.
This is cool and interesting, especially for a Christian person as of myself.

Maybe proof that Jesus existed but nothing else.
Which has already been proven.
even if you're an atheist this is important
as much as some of you hate it, christianity has been the driving force behind western culture for the past millennium, so this is pretty big
old writings about early christianity (which we know little of otuslide of Paul's letters) surface and facepunch's legion of know it all teenage atheists decide this is the time to regurgitate worn out pop atheist talking points instead of actually reading the fucking article and seeing that it may help our understanding of christianity's origins.
never change, facepunch

Historians are typically people with those credentials and the word "historian" is an easier term to understand. I'm not making the argument that it isn't a science, but with the context given it was needed to make the distinction that it isn't an applied science, and I think that point was made with the wording.

But religion is bad and it needs to be destroyed if it was gone all the worlds problems would be fixed.
