Calling someone 12 because you don't agree with their positions. Very mature.
no, it's because he supports torturing and skinning people. he has the mentality of a 12 year old.
Calling someone 12 because you don't agree with their positions. Very mature.
No, I'm calling him 12 because that's how he thinks.
Actually the people have the right to decide.
because america is fucked up and lets the government execute its own citizens
No, I'm calling him 12 because that's how he thinks.
Sure lets just call everyone a 12 year old, because of how they think. That's a stupid statement when you could actually try to counter his arguments. [editline]04:23PM[/editline]
because america is fucked up and lets the government execute its own citizens
The people choose execute its own citizens, your view of the U.S. is skew.
Sure lets just call everyone a 12 year old, because of how they think. That's a stupid statement when you could actually try to counter his arguments.
sure, let's be apologists for people who support torture/skinning people/firing squads leave it conservatives like you to do that
no, it doesn't. you have no right to decide who gets to die. you're a 1. hypocrite and a blood thirsty 2. 12 year old.
1. Absolutely, everyone is guilty of hypocrisy at some point. 2. Not so much man, you're about 6 years south. I admit my view isn't the best and I'll admit my opinion is to be taken with a pinch of salt on these matters, my views for certain crimes are incredibly draconian and retributionist. I don't value mercy I value justice, and that it has to be paid for by the murderer/rapist/molester etc.
The people execute its own citizens, your view of the U.S. is skew.
the government executes its own citizens
sure, let's be apologists for people who support torture/skinning people/firing squads leave it conservatives like you to do that
People can support whatever they want to. Calling him 12 makes you look nothing, but like you're 12 yourself. [editline]04:26PM[/editline]
the government executes its own citizens
You seriously don't know how law works do you?
By the way, name calling (calling people 12) is a sign of...being even younger than 12.
By the way, name calling (calling people 12) is a sign of...being even younger than 12.
My point further proven, it just shows the real maturity of the poster.
1. Absolutely, everyone is guilty of hypocrisy at some point.
okay, so you admit to being a hypocrite in this situation
2. Not so much man, you're about 6 years south.
lol
I don't value mercy I value justice, and that it has to be paid for by the murderer/rapist/molester etc.
justice is supposed to be about rehabilitation, not revenge. the death penalty is nothing more than vengeance. [editline]12:28PM[/editline]
You seriously don't know how law works do you?
yes, because a judge doesn't decide whether to execute someone and government officials don't allow or carry out the execution. :downs:
Calling someone 12 because you don't agree with their positions. Very mature. [editline]04:19PM[/editline] Actually the people have the right to decide.
No they don't. The mass mob do not get to control who lives or dies. This is like the ultimate form of the Tyranny of the Majority. Try again when you think about these things for more than three fucking seconds.
okay, so you admit to being a hypocrite in this situation lol justice is supposed to be about rehabilitation, not revenge. the death penalty is nothing more than vengeance. [editline]12:28PM[/editline] yes, because a judge doesn't decide whether to execute someone and government officials don't allow or carry out the execution. :downs:
Does the jury not do like...anything?
No they don't. The mass mob do not get to control who lives or dies. This is like the ultimate form of the Tyranny of the Majority. Try again when you think about these things for more than three fucking seconds.
people like him support tyranny of the majority as long as the majority agree with his views [editline]12:31PM[/editline]
Does the jury not do like...anything?
judge decides the sentence, not the jury
justice is supposed to be about rehabilitation, not revenge. the death penalty is nothing more than vengeance.
Yes, lets get amnesty to child rapist and serial killers.
yes, because a judge doesn't decide whether to execute someone and government officials don't allow or carry out the execution. :downs:
You're just making yourself look more stupid. A judge doesn't decide whether to convict the defendant of the charges at hand, the jury does. :downs:
okay, so you admit to being a hypocrite in this situation lol justice is supposed to be about rehabilitation, not revenge. the death penalty is nothing more than vengeance. [editline]12:28PM[/editline] yes, because a judge doesn't decide whether to execute someone and government officials don't allow or carry out the execution. :downs:
Justice is subjective, you feel it's about rehabilitating the offender and I agree except for certain circumstances such as murder and rape, extreme crimes which can cause irreparable harm to a person. Although to be honest I can think of fates worse than death it's just quick and easy. And why the "lol" no particular need for that over your opinion on how childish my views are, either way my views are my views and yours are yours, I ain't ragging on yours am I?
people like him support tyranny of the majority as long as the majority agree with his views [editline]12:31PM[/editline] judge decides the sentence, not the jury
I see...
judge decides the sentence, not the jury
You're an idiot, the jury decides to convict the defendant of the charges.
Yes, lets get amnesty to child rapist and serial killers. You're just making yourself look more stupid. A judge doesn't decide whether to convict the defendant of the charges at hand, the jury does. :downs:
How are we suggesting amnesty? We're asking that the justice system doesn't just execute people, and instead attempts rehabilitation, or less than that, punishment in a somewhat reversible format. The death penalty is a finality, nothing brings you back from that.
Yes, lets get amnesty to child rapist and serial killers.
yes, because I said that
You're just making yourself look more stupid. A judge doesn't decide whether to convict the defendant of the charges at hand, the jury does. :downs:
the JUDGE DECIDES THE SENTENCE you idiot and you told me that I don't know how the law works lol
You're an idiot, the jury decides to convict the defendant of the charges.
Which only proves their guilt, not their sentencing.
You're an idiot, the jury decides to convict the defendant of the charges.
Yes, but the judge determines what the sentencing should be. Read more about what you're trying to defend.
You're an idiot, the jury decides to convict the defendant of the charges.
lol you don't know what criminal sentencing is
How are we suggesting amnesty? We're asking that the justice system doesn't just execute people, and instead attempts rehabilitation, or less than that, punishment in a somewhat reversible format. The death penalty is a finality, nothing brings you back from that.
The key word attempts rehabilitation. If you're in there for a serious crime for life, there is no rehabilitation process. You're in there for life. [editline]04:36PM[/editline] Since everyone here doesn't know jack about law, the judge decides the sentence, but (read slowly) the jury decides to convict the defendant of that sentence. The jury decides if they agree with that sentence in that process, if they don't the defendant wont get convicted.
The key word attempts rehabilitation. If you're in there for a serious crime for life, there is no rehabilitation process. You're in there for life.
Life sentence almost never is actually for life. The only people who get more than that are special cases, and even those special cases should not get the death penalty, on the count of the justice system being fallible. I'm not suggesting everyone has a chance at being rehabilitated, but that most ordinary offenders do, and to deny them of that is a grave injustice.
Death penalty for shooting 2 unarmed civilians? Talk about harsh.
Have you been shot to death before?
Since everyone here doesn't know jack about law, the judge decides the sentence, but (read slowly) the jury decides to convict the defendant of that sentence. The jury decides if they agree with that sentence in that process, if they don't the defendant wont get convicted.
the ultimate decision whether to execute someone is up to the judge. the jury can voice their opinion, but that doesn't mean the judge can't go against the jury.

The jury decides if they agree with that sentence in that process, fit hey wont the defendant wont get convicted.
Nope. That's not at all how it works it goes like this (Gross simplification): Trial (Jury) -> Convicton (Jury) -> Sentencing after trial and Jury dismissal (Judge) -> Sentence performance (Prison System) -> Release or Execution of prisoner.
Life sentence almost never is actually for life. Have you ever been raped brutality? No. You don't understand the effect that crimes like these have on the victim.
