Besides if he actually bought the model, the modeler is the criminal here for selling a trademarked character.
They're both criminals in this case. The same way you are a criminal if you buy stolen goods unkowingly, doing research on what you buy or who you buy it from is your own responsibility. The seller is legally required to sell goods he has the right to sell, similarily the purchaser legally has to take responsibility for not checking the credibility of the buyer and whether the goods are legal or not.
The trailer's comedy gold, everything fits together perfectly! The music comes on and then the picture of Yoshi, featuring the best "just fled from rehab"-expression I've ever seen, having his right hand screwed up, being wrongly dubbed as "Era" and starring in a game so bland and uninteresting it's like The Room minus the hilarious, though cringeworthy acting.
That's bullshit and everyone knows it. How can you be a game designer and not know who Yoshi is? Really. He's just saying that because he got caught and he doesn't want to get sued.
I can hardly call someone who buys a CHARACTER model on TurboSquid a game designer :v:
I can hardly call someone who buys a CHARACTER model on TurboSquid a game designer :v:
A game designer is a guy that designs a game, not the one that does all of the job like modelling, texturing, coding, recording and so on and so forth. So there is no reason he needs to actually know how to model to be a game designer, he just needs to sit down and figure out all of the tiniest details of how the game is going to be, what it's purpose is, how it will be played, what mechanics it should have and all that. The more they can do by themselves of course, the better, and I wouldn't call him much of a game designer with a shitty product like this one.
Let's not forget about Limbo of the Lost regarding the use of copyrighted material. :suicide: If you don't know what i'm talking about, prepare to be blown away http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2008/06/12/limbo-of-the-lost-an-astonishing-tale/.
Looks like a pretty shitty game anyway.
Probably because he hasn't played Super Mario. Seriously why would you make games without playing the classics first? I don't see how you can expect to design and make a game (a platformer, no less) without having played it. It's almost essential if you want to end up with a well-designed game. alternatively he's lying and just bad at making games.
What the hell? I'm not a Super Mario fan either, in fact, I don't like it at all, and I've known Yoshi through all my gaming life.
This looks like a generic tech demo for a game engine :v: Yoshi looks really out of place.
I don't even get what's going on in the game. You run into boxes and the boxes explode. Ok?
I don't even get what's going on in the game. You run into boxes and the boxes explode. Ok?
You're just supposed to collect the keys that you are guided to with this gradiented line sticking out of your body to it's placement. I assume destroying things will just improve your score. It's completely pointless.
