I'm honestly shocked that there isn't a company selling PS3 style 360 controllers and 360 style PS3 controllers. I mean there has to at least be a niche market for them. I know I'd by a 360 styled controller for my PS3.
There's a few here and there. Pretty sure the Medal of Honor and Batman controllers were all in the Xbox 360 layout, even on PS3.
If I can use my PS3 controller with it then there is no problem with this for me. I grew up with the DualShock design and it'll be sad to see it go, but hey if they make a new more comfortable controller design then cool.
I have a solution for you.
I never liked the 360 controller, too big and bulky for my hands.
I disliked having the left analog stick up. I have fucking tiny hands. [editline]18th January 2013[/editline] But everyone changes controller designs. Change is not always bad, and i think sony will deliver a good design. Just something to get used to at first.
I never liked the 360 controller, too big and bulky for my hands.
Did you ever try the original xbox controller? The huge one?
I never liked the 360 controller, too big and bulky for my hands.
Whaaat. Do you have like small hands? It's like a perfect fit for my hands and most other people I know.
Why do you guys use this argument? Why have cars when we have carts? Why have lightbulbs when fire works just fine
there's a difference between ergonomics/design changes (e.g Facebook) and nearly objective technical improvements (e.g more powerful video game consoles)
Well that's unfortunate. The Dualshock design has worked remarkably well over the last 15 years. Then again, I thought the Wii U tablet looked like a clunky mess to hold on to and it ended up being one of the most comfortable controllers I've ever held. We'll see what they come up with.
it hurt my thumbs this is very good news to me. the wii u pro controller and the 360 controller are the pinnacle of controller design for me.
They should just do this, and i'd be happy.
I can't help but feel the design philosophy of the dualshock is outdated; primarily because it's an original playstation controller (which was originally designed as a d-pad only) with some sticks shoved onto the bottom.

I really like the ps3 controller. Sometimes when playing games I go through the trouble of setting up the controller. It's nice.
I couldn't care less. I still have the original PS3 controller that shipped with the PS3 on launch, and it doesn't have rumble.
I prefer using the dualshock for fighting games.
I like the controller how it is, it reminds me of my childhood spent with the PS1.
The Sixaxis/Dualshock 3 is the epitome of controller design. I honestly don't think they could possibly come up with a more comfortable shape. I just wish there were PC drivers for it that weren't sketchy as fuck.

Rumble, what an useless gimmick.
Whats wrong with Motioninjoy? I think its great except for the fact that it needs an internet connection to work.
hopefully it'll look like this, a true masterclass of design sadly gone before its time
Is this for gamers that throw their controller in a fit of rage. Because it looks like it would come back and hit you in the face.
If they are trying to use the wii u controller philosophy they won't come near the success. The elements they have copied from Nintendo this far (touch screen on portable device and wii style motion controllers) have had little to no impact on these devices, and have not nearly the level of support Nintendo gives to these items. While it might be easy to design a game for both consoles, I doubt this will actually be an integral design of the system, and more of just an accessory. Plus knowing Sony you will again have a $600 console to buy.
PSMove only

Probably the only reason its the way it is, is because of "that's the way we've always done it". After using the Xbox controller for so many years, using the PS2 ones seem a bit uncomfortable because of the way the left thumb stick is placed. I'm glad they will try something different.
PSMove only
Eyetoy 2
Versions of the new PS4 pad include biometric sensors on the grips and an LCD touch screen, the development source claimed.
If they just copy the Wii U pad I will be mildly pissed.
I won't be purchasing the Ps4 because of several reasons. No used games? what kinda shit is that. :| I absolutely hate when a game you b uy comes with a code to play online that you can only use once.. What kind of shit is that?
Again Sony wants to pour in the biggest and best tech there is on the market in the PS4, though the PS3 is a lot stronger then the 360 i never really saw a mind blowing game or anything on there. Exceptions were indeed the well made exclusives which do work great (Heavy Rain and MGS 4 for example)
Why do you guys use this argument? Why have cars when we have carts? Why have lightbulbs when fire works just fine
Because they don't work just fine? Carts require laborer persons or animals to operate and are slow moving. Fire is volatile and creates smoke unlike lightbulbs which are self-contained light sources which don't generate smoke or catch stuff on fire.
