Have you even held a 360 controller?
LOADS more comfortable than the dualshock.
Don't knock it before you try it.
The only current problem with Dualshock 3 design is this:

It's really annoying because your fingers slip out of the trigger. Why wouldn't they make the triggers concave?
I love that personally, having grown up on Playstations for my whole life. It feels loads more tactile and it adds additional compatibility for PC games when I use MotioninJoy.
I really liked the Dualshock when I was younger, but now that I bought a PS3 after about seven years of not owning a playstation and the controller feels fucking tiny. I can still play with it but I wish I had something with the 360 pad shape and size.

I've used both DualShocks and XBox controllers extensively. Personally, I prefer DualShocks.
But if anyone out there thinks that one controller is somehow objectively inferior to the other then they don't deserve to be permitted to use either.
Dual shock sucks
It's the fuckin ps 1 controller
Imagine if the wii u just cam wit the n64 controller
I've played both 360 and PS3, and I like the weight and feel of the 360 controllers more. The PS3 controllers feel too light and flimsy (I know they aren't but they feel like they are).

And the shoulder buttons on the PS3 controllers are way to sensitive for me.

Built in standard rechargeable batteries is pretty fucking awesome though.

And?
It shows that it worked so well that they didn't need to change it.
The problem to me is that the 360's controller seems to built around the hands of college-age males. I know that's what a lot of us are - including myself - but it's just really bulky. Maybe not on the levels of the Duke, but that's my main turn-off. It feels too big for my hands.
I have lots of other problems with it - I prefer my sticks symmetrical, the D-pad blows, the bumpers are really flimsy and have lame travel distance, the face buttons being spherical is just stupid, and I don't like the ABXY layout or the left menu button being Back instead of Select (that last one's more from my Nintendo leanings, though.) A lot of people call the 360 controller a "god tier" controller, but it's totally forgettable in my opinion.
To me, a great traditional controller was the GameCube controller. That thing nailed the ergonomics. Yeah, it was asymmetrical as well, but the damn thing didn't even have a traditional diamond layout for the face buttons because everything was thrown to the wind for absolute comfort, and it worked (plus, the C-stick was a lot more insignificant in Gen6 than today's right analog sticks.) Dreamcast's was pretty damn comfy as well, and I am ecstatic that someone finally brought back the VMU concept in the Wii U GamePad.
But yeah, I don't like bulk. The Wii U GamePad for example may be large, but it's not bulky and it weighs about as much as a GameCube controller. Plus, the size makes your hands further apart which is much more comfortable. Up until it came out, though, I have to say the DualShock 3 was probably the best traditional controller out there. It had it all: rumble, motion, two clicky-sticks, analog shoulder buttons, and every other button besides Start and Select was pressure-sensitive. If only the GamePad managed to snag the "pressure-sensitive" and "analog trigger" parts, I'd never need another traditional controller again.
Moving back to the main topic, it'll be sorta sad to see the DualShock go considering I've grown up with PlayStation nearly as long as I've grown up with Nintendo consoles. Something about seeing that ∆OX▯ pattern just makes me very nostalgic.
... Well, except for the PS3. DualShock 3 may be great; could hardly care less about the system itself.
breaking news
sony reveals yet another document for the future titled "WE DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY"
I have small hands, well smaller than most people I know (at work I wear medium sized gloves and they aren't quite skin tight) and I still like the feel of the Xbox 360 controller. I will agree with the triggers. I wish they were more sensitive, along with the bumpers being more sensitive.
How about this; I like the ergonomics or the Xbox controller, but I'll agree that it has room for improvement.
The 360 buttons always annoy me. I just dislike how it's rounded rather than flat. And the dualshock LR2 triggers always fucking pissed it off. You can never put down the controller without it pressing those buttons, and I know that's cause several resets for people in Demon's Souls and Dark souls.
And honestly, I'd like a new design. As long as it's comfortable and has space for fast position changes.
If that thing about the touch screen is true then fuck, sony are just proving time and time again that they're incapable of coming up with an original idea
I really want to try the Wiiu's gamepad (the pro one), having the thumbsticks where, y'know, your thumbs actually rest seems like a good idea.

the xbox gamepad is almost perfect though tbh, I can't understand why people like the dualshock
I personally have no problem with resting my thumbs on the Dpad with the 360 controller. If you have small hands or really tight hand muscles I can see how it would be annoying though.
Why do you guys use this argument? Why have cars when we have carts? Why have lightbulbs when fire works just fine
The difference is those are improvements, and useful such. When something brings change that makes absolutely no difference or makes things worse, that statement applies.
