For the record, whenever I have talked to a chaplain, religion has actually never come up. They are trained as some sort of jack-of-all trades counselor of sorts. They run religious services, but they are also the go-to resource to just talk to about problems you are having and whatnot.

In the Navy we have Muslim, Buddhist, and Jewish chaplains as well.
