It's not just Boston Dynamics. They acquired 7 robot companies just a few weeks ago. http://spectrum.ieee.org/automaton/robotics/industrial-robots/google-acquisition-seven-robotics-companies
Soon Google merges all robot companies into one, "Massive Dynamics"
They are surely planning on creating an army of those swagger-bots.

Google by land, Amazon by air. Its all over folks.
But they don´t have the sea!

The whole google plus integration with youtube was just so we would all have ID's for when they take over the world. I for one would gladly live in a google run society.
Guys we're safe from any robot invasions. Just remember your paradoxes and always carry a microwave.

well shit now google will make skynet AND terminators
they're building people to use G+
Now they can make robots that follow you around and show you adverts relative to what you're doing
http://allthingsd.com/20131203/google-acquired-seven-robotics-companies-for-andy-rubin/
Google bought seven robotics companies in the past six months — Schaft, Industrial Perception, Meka, Redwood Robotics, Bot & Dolly, Autofuss and Holomni — for an effort to create manufacturing and logistics robots under former Android head Andy Rubin. The deals were reported in a New York Times article, and confirmed by the company. The Times says Rubin’s aims are not at creating robots for consumers, but rather for competing with Amazon and its flying delivery drones. (Robots versus drones is the ultimate endgame, after all.)
Google is gonna become the Skynet/Cyberdyne of the real world, they've already got the technology, now they've got the robots.
If they don't decide to wipe us all out they should make commercial versions of the Big Dog so we can ride them around places.
Google is gonna become the Skynet/Cyberdyne of the real world, they've already got the technology, now they've got the robots.
now they just need to assimilate CYBERDYNE Inc. and take up that as the overall company name

if you upload copyrighted material to youtube ATLAS will come to your home and kill your family
The Times says Rubin’s aims are not at creating robots for consumers, but rather for competing with Amazon and its flying delivery drones.
And that is how the WW3 started.
how did a search engine company in a garage manage to become this
I'm actually not sure if I'm a huge fan of this.
google has become self aware
I'm not sure if this is good or bad considering the shit Google has been pulling off with their services lately
Now we just need to rebrand Google into Massive Dynamic and open a portal to a parallel universe.

http://spectrum.ieee.org/automaton/robotics/industrial-robots/google-acquisition-seven-robotics-companies
Honestly I'm surprised they didn't look at Cyberdyne, you'd think a company that specializes in biorobotics/exoskeletons would have as much use as Boston Dynamics.
I want them to make Doc Ock arms. Doc Ock arms are the shit.
Maybe Google's arterial motive is to start buying up companies that have contracts with the US Govt', to put some pressure on the NSA.
i'm waiting for the day a robot successfully places on ninja warrior
