Wow...that is beyond fucking stupid.
I slapped my mate in the face with a huge pink dildo at school and the teacher just laughed.
Yeah, it was the final day of that year, but still.

Poor dude.
I know it's overused and I think it might be a meme, but it's perfect for this.

Well that's not the issue.
I can understand the underlying issue. They found a suspicious package in the bathroom and thought it might be a bomb. What I can't understand is why the preliminary charge is felony criminal mischief when it doesn't even fit, and the idea that he may have to serve 8 years in prison is absolutely absurd when brining a gun into school gives you a maximum sentence of 3 years.
This reminds me of the guy who was threatened with 20 years in jail for making a video where it looked like he was singing a dirty song to some kids. Come to think it whatever did happen to him? I don't remember if he ever was actually sentenced or not.
My mind can’t comprehend what it just read. There is no crime here as far as I can see.
I honestly don't imagine a single human being who would support this.
stuuuuupid
8 years
for that?
:gonk:
Who ever the judge was during he case seems really retarded to the point he/she doesn't even know the law. Judge should be fired and banned from ever making decisions that change other peoples lives.

Besides the fact that the last sentence is horrendously stupid, the article says he's facing the charges, he's not convicted yet.
Terrible misleading title. Also you do realize that as the case develops the charges will almost certainly be lowered?
8 years?!
WHAT?!

Ugh, if he goes to prison, the world is officially fucked.
I can imagine his opening conversation in the joint with his cellmate...
- Convict: So, what you in for, bro? You mugged some old lady?
- Kid: I.. uhmm... I'm facing eight years for a doll, a plastic doll... *blushes*
- Convict: WHAT?! You serious?
- Kid: Yeah man... 8 years... Felony criminal mischief, they said... :/
*Convict falls out of his bunk bed laughing*
- Kid: FML :smith:
That's retarded, on my final day of School a kid walked about with a blowup doll in his bag, inflated and all.
What the flying fuck is wrong with our justice system?
everything

Chances are your school isn't run by soccer moms and puritans, then
These charges will never make it through a sane judge. Hell, I can even smell a hint of a counter-suit.
Rich white guy violates probation, runs over and killS two business men, get sentenced to spend 2 years in $600,000 sea-side condo.
Black kid puts blow-up doll in girls bathroom faces 8 years in jail.
This why justice should not always be blind.
Sometimes you need to look at what is moral rather than just facts and bullshit.
Why is it assumed that every box is a bomb? Maybe, just maybe, it's a fucking box.
inaccurate and misleading title
"lands student 8 years in jail" implies that he has already been convicted and sentenced to 8 years in jail
he's only been arrested so far

I find it pretty fucking stupid he's been arrested for it.
There is no victim, so what's the crime? Honestly, why is this in any way a felony?
The article is pretty bad because it ignores the fact that they evacuated the school and called in the bomb squad because they though he had a bomb.
Despite that hopefully common sense will prevail (and I honestly believe it will) and he'll get at most some kind of fine because he certainly doesn't deserve prison time.
So he'll get out of jail when he's 26
Great job justice, anything left of his youth will be gone by then
"If the kid placed it in the girl's washroom and left it concealed, HE MUST KNOW that people will suspect something. It's like robbing a bank without a mask and robbing a bank WITH a mask. The sentence goes up if your identity is concealed. You're so fucking wrong for thinking this kid is innocent."
:smith:
Your dad is pretty fucking dumb
next time he does something even remotely illegal, and we all do, tell him to get his fucking ass to jail for 8 years.
DOUBLE PARKING? LIFE IN PRISON

Not to mention any hopes of him being a functioning member of society will be gone. He'll be a convicted felon and will have suffered the horrors of prison. If he were to be convicted under this charge he'd be a likely candidate to return to prison.
im gonna throw up
