What if the kid has a job and he gets home from work at 10PM on a Friday and wants to play some video games
Online games man, the kid can deal with singleplayer until morning.
That depends on what time you wake up at, if you go to bed at 2:00am and get up at 10:00am, I'd say that's a perfectly healthy amount of sleep.
you could also sleep at 10 an wake up at 6
i would be very angry if a law got passed here, i can remember staying up past midnight to play games since 12
Again if you guys read the article it says online games.
South Korea is starting to sound like my mum.
At the age of 16 you are far from a kid.
You are a child legally until you hit the age of 18. Puberty will probably start settling in then anyway.
There is a terrible move. Half their GDP consists of earnings from Starcraft tournaments.
It's a bit silly considering only South Korean online games will be cut off. I imagine most kids will just play other games after midnight. It makes it seem like foreign games won't face this restriction, so I'm sure they'll just switch to a game without a time limit.
The rest of the world should do this. THE REST OF THE WORLD SHOULD DO THIS NO MORE KIDS MIC SPAMMING AT NIGHT WHEN I PLAY FOR FUCKS SAKE DO THIS PLEASE, I WANT ADULT GAMING AT NIGHT! Since this is only for online games I can really support this.
I'm 18 and I rated disagree In the long term surely it's better if parents teach their children not to stay up really late playing games. This measure will do for now, though. I just don't like the idea of locking people out of any activity past a certain time - unless it's at the discretion of the service provider, of course.

No more mingebags for them. Lucky bastards.
you could also sleep at 10 an wake up at 6
Or you can do it the way I said. It should be up to the individual not the government.
how about better parenting instead of a nanny state. "it's not healthy for you" or "kids should not be up past midnight" are not valid excuses because a lot of things kids do could be considered unhealthy, and they're paying for a service.
School until midnight. I cringed.

But no, let's not help addicts recover, let's tell them shame on you for using it at all. :downs: Video game addiction is a pretty rampant social problem in South Korea and this purposed ban is just trying to take a step in the right direction towards fixing the problem.

I think the US should adopt this law. Then use it to ban the kidiots from online gaming, period.
They should do this in england where every kid on xbox is a loud mouth chavvy prick.
Move the 12 o'clock time to 3 o'clock in the afternoon and we have a deal.
You might think you are. But you really aren't. At the age of 16 you are nowhere close to being an independent adult. And truth be told, I have no idea how I've managed to figure that out, since I'm 17, I have absolutely no personal experience in the field of being an independent adult.
Must... pay... the bills... ON TIME!!!
No, just no, it's a nanny law, no decent country should have nanny laws, parents should be enforcing this not the government.
Honestly by the time anything similar comes to the states, everyone will be over the age of 21 and it won't even apply to you guys, stop freaking out.
Hey maybe now my friends will do better in their all night SC2 marathons
it's still not healthy for you if you feel like you have to play longer than midnight then you've been playing too much
You're an idiot. It's not like your entire life is gonna go out of whack if you stay up past midnight and wake up later. There are plenty of people who I know that stay up late and usually wake up at 12:00-2:00 PM (due to having chosen classes a bit later for college), and they act perfectly fine in terms of being tired. It's not unhealthy, this law shouldn't pass and it should be up to parents and the kid.
that's a good thing kids shouldn't be up after midnight anyways
Wow...wow, just wow...wow WOW okay, there are so many things wrong with this, the fact that your anti-social autistic bs bullshit fuck shit is fucking warped as shit, just because your mommy made you go to bed at 10 doesn't mean everyone else MUST be in bed by 12, you sheltered child you. Oh and uh, this is NOT a good thing, they should be allowed to play video games WHENEVER they want, it's bullshit that they are disallowed to do anything like allnighters on weekends or ANYTHING can you imagine, just for a second, that you have friends? Now, you want to play a bunch of black ops with them on the pstriple all night, its a fun night. But no fuck you you can't in south korea because of this bullshit [editline]2nd December 2010[/editline] i mad

Not because it's fair for the kids, but so I can play in peace without listening to 9 year olds scream on DarkRP.
Agreed. Not because it's fair for the kids, but so I can play in peace without listening to 9 year olds scream on DarkRP.
Mute them instead of taking away their RIGHTS you fucks GOD DAMN IT WHY DOES ANYONE ADVOCATE ANY LAWS THAT TAKE RIGHTS AWAY FROM PEOPLE????
They should do this in england where every kid on xbox is a loud mouth chavvy prick.
ha ha it's funny cause your a chav
I have a sleep disorder and im up from 8 pm to 1am ( the next day )
Uh then what uh...you are only awake 5 hours?
I want this world wide and instead of midnight make it 11PM till 6AM and instead of 16 make it anyone younger than 18.
