I still believe that there won't be any riots.
I wouldn't bet on there being riots, but I don't necessarily completely doubt it either. If they do riot, then they're just embarrassing themselves to be honest, so stupid that they are willing to riot over a court ruling they disagree with, even though the court ruling was made based on the evidence.
over 1 kid lmao fucking idiotic really... boohoo 1 kid died. Yeah, I know its a serious thing, but tens of thousands of people die every day. What makes him special?
What should have been a relatively typical case of self-defense or manslaughter was turned in a racially-charged murder trial by an incompetent police department and a sensationalist media.
I outright said I don't think he was guilty lmao
You've been saying Zimmerman shouldn't be played off as a victim...
Some media slammed him. Fox News was in his corner from day one when almost nothing was known about the case. Conservative outlets in general supported it as another victory for concealed carry and SYG laws. And yeah again it sucks that people want to murder him and start riots if he is found not guilty by the legal system but again I don't think his lawyer should have done this. If Random Former Attorney Joe Bob came on CNN as an analyst and said that Zimmerman faced a future of being victimized no matter how this trial went down I wouldn't have a problem with it, but coming from his attorney it just seems callous. Imagine how family and friends of Martin feel.
His attorney just said no matter the outcome he will always be in danger. How is that callous? That same lawyer, right before asking Trayvon's mom questions on the stand said "First of all, I'm sorry for your loss". No where did the attorney on CNN mention Trayvon as a murderer, as guilty or anything. He was just talking about the potential rioters.
Conspiracy Theory: The police already know that Zimmerman is going to get fully acquitted, and are planning for full-scale riot control when the news breaks. Honestly, I don't see anybody rioting or starting any real trouble if he gets convicted. If he walks, though, there is obviously going to be a lot of racial anger breaking loose.
It's worrying that riots will occur, my city is filled with people who want justice against zimmerman, and have threatened riots. And our PD sucks, so I dunno, I hope they don't do anything. Why people should riot over this makes no sense, and plus, I hope Zimmerman gets some form of protection when he's found not guilty. More than likely people will have a bounty on his head.
Yo when the riots do inevitably start in your country, please think on what role the media has played in this and how they have essentially victimized all of you who are in these areas that are likely to riot. The moment this story got in the hands of the media, majority of outlets started playing up the race factor and used a bunch of underhanded tactics to alter people's perception of this case to the point where people feel its racially motivated and they are emotionally attached to it. Its ridiculous how much power people can wield with a fucking TV spot.
And this is why the FCC should bar news networks from covering trials as they happen. The media has made a complete sham out of this and turned the entire situation into a clusterfuck. It doesn't matter how the ruling goes, there will be morons that overreact and there will most likely be riots somewhere. Had the media not jumped on it this wouldn't be an issue.
You've been saying Zimmerman shouldn't be played off as a victim...
There is this thing called nuance where not everything that happens in day to day life is black and white and you can actually react to things dynamically. You should probably look into it.
His attorney just said no matter the outcome he will always be in danger. How is that callous?
He specifically said Zimmerman (his client on trial for second-degree murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, a shooting that everyone acknowledges happens) was a victim. I'm saying he just shouldn't have said that. Don't say anything. Wait for the trial to be over, wait for tempers and emotions to settle a bit. You literally represent someone who shot someone else regardless of extenuating circumstances. Don't call him a victim. It's not smart, even if your client faces a future of victimization regardless of the ruling. I think that was a really important thing to get done considering someone had just been shot to death in the street. The problem is they couldn't stop. Fox went on with it's absurd portrayals of Martin as a common street thug and Zimmerman as a hero of the people. MSNBC had it's doctored audio tapes. CNN was CNN, constantly fumbling the case and debating the stupidest aspects possible. There was plenty of responsible reporting, just not on the big 24/7 news networks that rely on lazy sensationalist journalism.

The lawyer didn't even say he's innocent on CNN, he just said whatever the outcome, guilty or innocent he'll be in danger, he's not saying "Poor him", he's basically saying for those who are interested that Zimmerman won't be safe. Why do you even care what the lawyer says? Because he's not thinking about the family? Nice strawman, better luck next time. It's like you can't continue a relevant argument and try to find something else to start on. [editline]10th July 2013[/editline] "Oh shit, there's evidence that Zimmerman's innocent, abort argument, moving on to Zimmerman's lawyer"
The PSA is hilarious. As if they expect the #Justice4Trayvon people to go "Oh, rioting will get me arrested? Nevermind then!"
To be fair there are also a lot of online posters who are saying, "Fuck yeah I will burn this fucking city to the ground!" and then won't do anything regardless.
Is this the thread where we post stock hacker images? i think it might be
Zimmerman should hide where no black person will ever see him: A Tyler Perry movie.
Nice try but if Zimmerman walks some people will go fucking ballistic and try to riot.
There will be people rioting either way
LA riots all over again.
If it gets anywhere near that scale, hopefully they cut the bullshit and deploy the National Guard ASAP.
fuck the national guard just deploy a bunch of Korean shopkeepers there and we'll be good.
Zimmerman should hide where no black person will ever see him: A Tyler Perry movie.
A black person makes those movies so you are wrong
Fuck that, I'm gettin' me a new TV. And maybe an ear. Doesn't matter whose.
A black person makes those movies so you are wrong
I'm starting to doubt Tyler Perry is real. He has an inhuman amount of movies and shows.
fuck the national guard just deploy a bunch of Korean shopkeepers there and we'll be good.
These guys literally turned Koreatown into a fortress.
Idiots. I hope these loud voices do not impact the trial verdict in any way.
I said this before Zimmerman was arrested way back, but their voices already impacted it. They protested so loud and it was getting to the point that it may get out of control so they had to arrest him and charge him with something to do it, to appease them. Now it's come around and bit them in the ass, as I said it would, because there's no way in hell Zimmerman is guilty of 2nd degree murder. And if he's found not guilty (which may not happen, all female jury, 5 of the 6 have children? Fair trial my ass) there's going to be some more Race Riots. It'll be Rodney King all over again

They were prepared to do absolutely no investigation and take Zimmerman on his word 100% until the media got wind of it. Do you want to live in a country where people can just gun each other down, claim self-defense, and the police say "oh okay"?
No they had to arrest and charge him with something because he shot an unarmed person and when that happens the police normally arrest and charge the person with something.
To arrest someone you have to charge them with something. But they had to figure out what to charge him with. Charge him with the wrong thing and you may not get a conviction. They rushed it to appeal to the public. Formally Charged him with something before all the evidence was looked at, before a real investigation had been conducted, and it's fucked them. He might be guilty of manslaughter, but not 2nd degree murder. Shouldn't have rushed it
Idiots. I hope these loud voices do not impact the trial verdict in any way.
verdict was affected the second it became national news

They bothered to go back there, how is that not investigating. There's also videos of him being interrogated at the police station. You should just really follow the case instead of just throwing out assumptions the news told you Yeah they just took Zimmerman on his word

You should just really follow the case instead of just throwing out assumptions the news told you
You should probably follow the case a little bit better than just mindlessly defending objectively poor police work. The chief of police says it himself pretty clearly
"The best evidence we have is the testimony of George Zimmerman, and he says the decedent was the primary aggressor in the whole event, everything I have is adding up to what he says."
The "investigative" work they did was entirely preliminary and just happened to add up to the fact that Zimmerman was innocent. I mean he did say he was shouting for help and then in his reenactment and interrogation he said he shouted for help so that is obviously what happened. Lets not do any of the hard work like forensic examination and witness cross-examination. Lets not have a trial that would ultimately prove Zimmerman (probably) not guilty in a court of law before the worlds eyes. Lets just assume that the only surviving person in a two-man confrontation is right when he said he had no choice to shoot the other person dead. I mean we can't question Martin, because he is dead, so Zimmerman is our only lead and he says Zimmerman acted in self-defense. Come on dude, I know you are a die-hard Zimmerman supporter, but if you can honestly say that a trial shouldn't have been done, especially because it seems to have worked in Zimmerman's favor, you are just nuts.
I live about 20 minutes away from Sanford, where this shit went down, i go there at least once a week, if not more, some of my best, closest friends live in Sanford. I really do not want anything to go down, fuck :(
