Ammon Bundy and 3 other arrested near Oregon refuge; shots fired

They sure weren't in a hurry to save his ass. Definitely gave them a reason to shoot, though.
So ugh, is he related to Ted?
They sure weren't in a hurry to save his ass. Definitely gave them a reason to shoot, though.
unfortunately they still had 5-6 other armed men in the car to deal with, and if the first guy that surrendered tried to draw a gun, what were the next 6 gonna do?

Better to have him die then try to move him and risk being shot by the guys in the car.
I predict that it's already being called doctored/fake on Facebook by the idiots who support/ed these guys.
Thanks for quoting the link.
What that guy did was stupid as fuck, and I'd have shot him, too. But I'm confused about afterwards. The bursts of flame around the truck, and what looked like impact puffs from the front passenger window, like as if rounds were hitting the glass.
He had previously said he wouldn't be taken alive. I'm under the impression it was suicide by cop. I think if he had the intention to actually use his firearm he wouldn't have fumbled around like he did, I think he just wanted to give them a reason. But I don't know that for a fact, honestly it's more like wishful thinking. It's also just as likely or more likely he was under stress and he couldn't draw properly.
FBI/PD made the right call and shot him, they couldn't take the chance. It's a shame anyone had to die.
Surprised he didn't pull out his gun from inside the truck. He had his hands up momentarily. It's almost as if he was going to surrender in the heat of the moment, but then decided he didn't want to go to jail so he reached inside his jacket. Which will pretty much get you plugged in any standoff with the police.
They will be showing the shooting to put the rumors to rest.
THIS WILL BE GOOD

welp, it shows he did try to run and then charged at law enforcement while trying to reach for his gun.

They released the footage for anyone to see. Obvious NFSW.
The FBI has their own Youtube channel???
He almost ran over a guy trying to dodge that roadblock.

The edited version of the video is actually in higher a quality than the unedited clip. Edited version is 1080p and unedited is currently in 480p.

What major organisation doesn't?
Honestly, the way I see the roadblock thing was that he was going pretty fast, ended up trying to get the hell out of the way, and when he realized it was over he went out with his hands up. It did seem like he was trying to for something in his upper-torso which probably was the reason he got shot, but I would like to know what he was going for tbh.
Otherwise, my only other, "Why??" was the obvious shots taken at the car after the first guy was killed. It just seemed rather pointless really.

Shots at the car? I believe that was flashbangs and gas, least thats what I heard when they were presenting the video.

Maybe late but the news release I saw said those were flash bangs and pepper spray laced sponge bullets or something

FBI statement said he had a loaded handgun in his pocket

There are still about 4 people occupying the refuge; they believe that the FBI still wants to kill them and has snipers waiting. Their theory is that the FBI has been flying drones over them so they'd shoot at the drone in the dark and that gives the snipers plausible deniability to kill them. :v:
All you Feds watching that, you guys, you guys should double, double-think your, your allegiance to your countries, CIA FBI all that crap, it's all compromised, it's all serving some kind of agenda. How come Hillary's still running for President?

All you Americans and FBI people need to double-think again, you know, also, is, it's your government arming moderate rebels and then bringing them into your country as refugees even though the enemy has already spoken and said they were gonna do that, and so why are you still serving the damn government? You're attacking the people who are frustrated with that.
What does this have to do with two guys who went to jail for arson on Federal land? :v:
Meanwhile, everyone taken into custody is being held without bail due to the flight risk, and Ammon Bundy is trying to downplay the whole thing and claim that he respects the government and was only trying to protect freedom and that the Malheur occupation was "never" an armed standoff. The criminal complaint against the arrested occupiers includes pages and pages of their own social media postings to show a different story.
16. On December 18, 2015, a citizen (hereafter Citizen) of Hamey County was shopping at the Safeway grocery store in Bums, Oregon. Citizen was wearing a BLM shirt. Citizen was confronted by two men, one whom she identified as Ritzheimer. Citizen reported to law enforcement that she heard yelling, and when she turned around, the second individual shouted "you're BLM, you're BLM" at her. That person further stated to Citizen that they know what car she drives and would follow her home. He also stated he was going to bum Citizen's house down. Ritzheimer and the second individual left the area in a black pick-up truck with black canopy and no visible license plate. Since the incident, Citizen has observed a similar vehicle outside her residence. Citizen was unable to identify the driver of the vehicle when she later saw it. The following week, a second vehicle, described as a white truck with a pink license plate and a big rebel flag sticker on the back window, aggressively tailgated Citizen, flashing lights and driving erratically. Citizen believed the second incident was related to the first. Citizen also saw the black pick-up truck outside of her place of employment early in the morning hours of Christmas Day.
Pete Santilli (now being held without bail with the rest of them) said this on YouTube on Dec 27th:
Ok, ah, we got the Federal government running around as if they're trying to protect us from terrorism. No, they're trying to shut down patriots like me, Schuyler Barbeau, throw them in jail, throw the Hammonds in jail, call them terrorists, and, ah, let all the Syrian refugees come in. We're not going to let it happen. We're going to take a stand .... Ok, I'm sure they had original intentions to be extremely peaceful. Ah, of course, ah, we, ah, we must get the Federal government to comply with our peaceful demands, ah, otherwise we have to explore all opportunities that we have made available to us through our founding fathers. So, ah, um, be prepared, be alert, um, and definitely respond to this call of action, call to action folks, all call, all patriots get out there. Thank you. Alright, here we are.
Not an armed standoff, my ass, Bundy. :v:

So, a dog ran into the refuge a little while ago. The occupiers called the number on the tag, which connected to the vet, who called the owner. Obviously, nobody can come pick up the dog, so the vet told the militia to just let it go. The militia thought "that was strange" - forgetting that they're in an armed standoff.
They talked about possibly escorting someone in, as if that's gonna happen.

Somehow I imagine it would work out about the same either way.

They're not leaving the compound because they want to be able to leave without any of them being arrested, when one of them has a felony warrant out (presumably for telling people to kill cops on stream). Holy shit these people are delusional. :v:
So we found out the next day that, because we didn't leave, Sean would be charged for impeding a Federal employee from their job. But the problem is that, we never impeded anybody from coming to work. There was no employees here when we had come. And, uh.. there was also another gentleman with us who knew he could leave without any charges and yet he chose to say and they didn't put any charges on him. Instead they chose just Sean.
You dumb shits, you fuckers are keeping more than a dozen Federal employees from their jobs for a month because they're afraid you'll fucking SHOOT THEM if they come to the door and ask "Could you leave so we can go to work in here?" :v:
Why won't they let anybody in?
WOW these people are delusional, holy fuck
They shut off their phones this morning by the way.
It baffles me and pisses me off that a group of people can have enough of a persecution complex to think they're patriots at war with the federal government and cause shit like this to happen. People are dying because of these peoples' stupidity.
One of the witnesses in the car Finicum crashed into the snowbank to try and get around the police roadblock says she heard him yelling "Just shoot me!" before, well, they did.
Also, that fucking heavy equipment they've been digging trenches with could be doing very real, permanent damage to the archaeological site the refuge is built on.
he archaeology work at the refuge became one of the occupiers’ complaints against the government on January 20 when the militia released a video showing one of their leaders, Robert “LaVoy” Finicum, and others inspecting cardboard boxes of stone artifacts that had been recovered from the refuge. Finicum, who was killed in a confrontation with law enforcement officers on Tuesday, expressed dismay over the treatment of the artifacts and asked for a liaison with the Burns Paiute Tribe to discuss returning the artifacts to them. The tribe has responded by enacting a resolution calling on the U.S. Department of the Interior to prosecute the militants to the fullest extent of the law citing federal government’s treaty obligations. “We have a long standing relationship with the tribe,” says Malheur archaeologist Carla Burnside of the Native Americans who are descendants of the land’s original inhabitants, “they are involved in every aspect of the work we do out there.”
...
One of the sites that has, until now, been left intact happens to be the headquarters buildings the militants are occupying. They have been using a bulldozer in the area around those structures. The headquarters buildings and prehistoric sites near them are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. “If soil is being disturbed out there, it is highly likely that they have impacted prehistoric resources,” Burnside says. Damaging a site listed on the Register is a violation of the Archaeological Resources Protection Act of 1979 and could add to the list of charges facing the militants.
The occupation is also keeping the preserve staff from important preserve maintenance that could significantly set back conservation efforts that have been decades long.
All but 4 or in jail. Lol fucking lozers
A week after Ammon Bundy told everyone to go home, now he's telling the cops to walk away. lmao
Last week, the FBI had offered to let them leave, and only one of them would face charges - the other three were free to leave. All four refused to leave unless the charges were dropped on the one.
Well, now all four have been indicted of felony conspiracy to keep federal employees from their duties (by occupying the refuge). :goodjob:
Also seems that the authorities are cutting off their access to the outside world - the only phone they have now that works is the one they can talk to only the FBI negotiator on.
Congratulations, guys, by refusing all attempts at compromise, you've forced the issue. You're all going to die or going to jail, your choice, but you're not getting out of Malheur with your freedom thanks to your own dumb fucking decisions.
I seriously can't believe that four people are still in there. They have to be low on food by now.
