There are too many people alive today with an unwarranted dislike of homosexuality, and they're too damned entrenched in their own ideology and beliefs to learn or thing otherwise. Other than making laws and preaching acceptance, homophobia is going to be a rampant problem until the previous generations die off and the new generations grow into maturity, and even then the problem may not go away. But back to my main point, you aren't solving anything by initiating conflict, your own scuffle with a couple of thugs which will likely end up with you in hospital isn't going to incite a mass enlightenment where everyone suddenly realises they're wrong and everyone from that point on is coo' and shit. That isn't gonna happen, so the only thing you can do is lay low and enjoy your sex/relationship the way you should be anyway, between two or more consenting adults behind closed doors. Everyone should be able to go outside with their partner to partake in activities together and look like a couple in the process, but in reality you can't just do that without getting shit, don't pretend the ideal is the reality, and wait for change, whenever it may come.
