no you tools Member of Parliament [editline]06:24AM[/editline] fuck
You know, you can talk and make a point without insulting anyone who disagrees with you every time.
If I had the chance to rid the world of every gun, I would. until then, I'll enjoy the metallic noises.
Oh you :obama: Also accept my Steam friend request :frogc00l:
I'm so glad that you'll never have that chance.
I know, you won't have the opportunity to fend off the martians. Paranoia can do that.
I always hope that you're trolling but then my mind always goes back to just thinking that you're misinformed and 14. Owning a gun does not mean that you're paranoid (Of an alien invasion? what?)
I'm Informed and 18. just sayin where do you live that you need a pistol on your nightstand?
I don't need a pistol on my nightstand. As I said before, I'd rather be safe than sorry if the need ever does arise. Edit: That's similar to asking someone why they need to own a winter coat when they live in a tropical area. It could get cold with some crazy weather swing or you may have to go to a cold place. Better to have more than you need than less.
Not this shit again
Starting that shit with me is bad, starting that shit with Perfumly is worse. The guy has enough guns to organize a private militia.

"Safe than sorry" for something so drastic? You're paranoid. Unless you live in some shitty area. That's a pretty poor comparison. [editline]07:12AM[/editline]
Starting that shit with me is bad, starting that shit with Perfumly is worse. The comparison I tend to use is perhaps more applicable. What about fire extinguishers? If you have one in your bedroom and the house isn't in a particularly fire-prone area does that make you paranoid of fires?
I'm Informed and 18. just sayin where do you live that you need a pistol on your nightstand?
Where else would you have it? Man, it's just common sense to put it on you nightstand as you never know if someone is going to be between you and where you keep your pistol when you are awaken in them middle of the night, also the nightstand in the safest place to keep it whilst ensuring you can always access your gun directlyAA in that rare event that you do need it. Also there is never a direct need for it to be there, it's just a precaution since you'll never know.
Yes because if a home invader ever comes to my home I will have the time to go to my garage, enter a combination turn a key and open a massive safe to retrieve a pistol to defend myself.
Or having a rocket launcher under your bed because the communists might invade. Does that make you paranoid of invasion?
Yes because if a home invader ever comes to my home I will have the time to go to my garage, enter a combination turn a key and open a massive safe to retrieve a pistol to defend myself.
or you, could, you know, stop being so fucking paranoid about home invaders. i like the idea of a 16 year old leaving firearms around his house. just makes me feel tingly.
I think guns are projectile shooting weapons.
or you, could, you know, stop being so fucking paranoid about home invaders. i like the idea of a 16 year old leaving firearms around his house. just makes me feel tingly.
There's a difference between paranoia and preparation. If someone has a food stock and gear ready to go live in the wilderness incase shit ever hits the fan it's not due to paranoia. It's so that if something bad happens they'll be ready for it. Does wearing a seatbelt make you paranoid of getting in a car wreck?
If I keep a rocket launcher under my bed in case of enemy invasion, would that be preparation or paranoia?
Answer my question please.
Answer my question please.
There is different level's of preparation. Having a firearm, a device which is used to kill people, near where you sleep because you're constantly worried to hell about everyone trying to get you in whatever white town you live in, is paranoia. Wearing a seat belt is a law.
Or having a rocket launcher under your bed because the communists might invade. Does that make you paranoid of invasion?
It's not paranoia, it's just customary to keep your pistol in your nightstand drawer since you can simply reach over and retrieve your gun immediately. Also you make it sound like they're being paranoid by having it on the nightstand, if someone was paranoid, they would have their gun under their pillow, and if they were truly paranoid, they would be cuddling with their AR-15 in bed.

Wearing a seat belt is a law.
Paranoia vs. Preparation is measured in intensity and not the likelihood of the event. If I were to have a fully loaded AR-15 and M1911 and other tactic00l shit right by my bed simply for the sake of repelling a home invader that would make me paranoid. Just as wearing knee pads and shin guards and a helmet inside of a car along with the seat belt would make you paranoid of a car wreck. There is nothing wrong or strange about owning a firearm for self-defense.

So yeah Trotsky, you going to add me or what? :frown:
So yeah Trotsky, you going to add me or what? :frown:
Why would you ever want to add him
Why would you ever want to add him
Because I'm Open Minded and I'm not the type to hold it against someone for their their opinions and stances on matters, also he seems interesting in his views. :3:

Paranoia as a concept exists in large part within the confines of social norms, rather than practicality. We mentioned seat belts earlier, right? Well there is one story I can recall from which I can draw some relevance to the topic at hand. Way back when, in Russia nobody wore seat belts. Ever. Only the occasional foreigner. Cars were made with them, but they were never worn. In fact people claimed the seatbelt would trap you in the crushed car, which is more dangerous than getting hurled out (supposedly to safety). When I moved to the states in 1996 we had to start wearing seat belts here and we eventually got used to it. Like brushing teeth. No big wup. Then when we visited Russia in subsequent years, the habit of dawning seatbelts followed us home. At this point our relatives started thinking we were paranoid about car accidents. No joke. They used the old "It's safer to go through the windshield." logic too. So what's my point? "Paranoia" has a social element affixed to it. There is a societal norm, when someone acts beyond it they are considered paranoid. People in Russia used to think seatbelts were for paranoid people and even had a reverse paranoia of being crushed inside the vehicle which was accepted knowledge as far as everyone was concerned. Does this mean seat belts have less practical value in real life? No. Societal norms dictated the perception of their value, rather than their real potential to save lives.
