So wait, the cat was still in the area? it just never came home? fucking retard cat. MY Cat comes home every day, cause he knows where he lives, cause he's not a fucking moron like this piece of shit.
Man that sucks.. The cat left when it was 9. 6 years later, means it's 15. That cat is going to come home. And then it's going to DIE.

The same thing happened to me. My cat I've had since I was a kid got lost and just showed up one day four years later, around 2 years ago. Sadly he was sick and died a few weeks after returning. :( Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I worded it kind of weird.
I was coming back to my apartment about an hour ago... I saw a cat run across the street into some bushes. I tried to get it but I couldn't find it and it didn't move or make noise. I want that cat :/
He probably just moved out and came back to get some stuff he forgot.
What's the point of microchipping a cat if it can't track?
What's the point of microchipping a cat if it can't track?
identification, if the animal shelter picks one up they'll scan it and the name, address, phone number, etc. of the owner is all on the chip
Reminds me of this cat I used to have We found him a week after we lost him, but he was with a different family. He seemed a lot happier so we just let him stay.
Cats have widely varying personalities. They're not all bitchy and clawing-everything-that-comes-near-them. My cat really likes people and will follow you around and quickly jump up on your lap and stuff.
My parents' cats have all been scared of being alone without a human or something. When I was in my room doing stuff *cough*sitting in front of my PC*cough* they would come and sleep on my bed. When I left and they noticed they were alone, they pretty much ran into the living room and laid down on the couch/floor mat/chair/anything if there were people around. And 2 of them that were with us from kittens (one was almost fully grown when she came to our house) did this strange claw-massage thing to me while laying on my chest every morning when I was watching TV. Even though it hurt a bit, I still let them do it because they seemed to like doing it.
I've had a few friends whose cats have lived to be 20.
And the oldest one on record was nearly 40.
Sigh. Reading all lovely and sad stories here makes me really think about my lovely cat. She had been with me for 16 years until she was put down.. on my birthday. I never even got to say goodbye to her, and to this day I haven't forgiven my mom, most likely never will either. Shit was a sad day.

She had a massive flea allergy which caused her a lot of pain if anyone touched her back and we could never get rid of our fleas entirely. About a month ago she had a related stroke (at least, I think) and died while I held her. Cats, man.
It's stories like this that make me glad I have lazy cats. They go outside for a little bit, get bored, come inside, eat, then fall asleep for 3 days.
I am happy to read this. Every time I see a missing report for a cat or dog I always feel sad because I think that they will probably never be found.
