Yeah but since this is a prequel I don't think it'll make much sense for Ripley to be old in these movies and then somehow turn 40 years younger as the story progresses

Not sure to be honest, I kind of assumed alien was about humanities first contact with the xenomorphs, could be wrong though, its been a while since I last saw it.

Yeah I realise this. And it's not that I was hoping to see her return as Ellen Ripley, but I had hoped she would get a small role as some other character or something. v:v:v

O god yes, I hope they have something more to offer about the space jockeys and their relationship to the Xenos, Since I was a kid and first watched Alien I've wanted to know more about that.
While I'm not their biggest Fan, the AVP films are counted in the main canon I believe so it's not a far cry to say they will be the protagonist force in the prequel and they might pull the lost in space/ no survivors ending or some shit.
Also, Ridley Scott.
we don't need more prequels.
I hope they use H.R Giger's works in this.

not as far as ridley scott is concerned
not as far as anyone working on these films that actually has a level of respect for them
the first two were absolute landmarks in film, but to be honest, after the shit that came after it you can't really disappoint me anymore
they should market the movie as "It's okay, it's not AVP".
