please tell me why exactly the same thing every president in the past 60 years has said is suddenly "unsettling" because it came out of trump's mouth?
like you'd probably shit on him for saying "water is wet". if he came to your door and called you a beautiful person who could do no wrong you'd probably still cry about it on the internet
i think it's unsettling all of your presidents have said that
Eh? It's just labourers' day. Nobody really sees it as political
In the 30's it certainly was seen as political here, which is why they had to make a counter-holiday. At the time thousands of people were joining protests for better working conditions. (Our labor day isn't on the same day because the then president was afraid having them on the same day would strengthen Socialist and Communist movements)

nationalism in general disturbs me
hahahahahhahahahahahdhahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Get fucking real, Trump, there's having pride in your country and then there's nationalistic dumb bollocks like this.

hate speech laws, restricted gun access, hilariously inept immigration policies....
are you sure?

hate speech laws make a country worse?
Restricted gun access in an area with less guns makes sense, proliferation of weapons when they're scarce doesn't help anything and directly contradicts your third point of "Hilariously inept immigration" which surely wouldn't be helped with more guns floating around without reason.

the usa has those same things depending on the area (compare the new hampshire prefecture to new york, or look at the province of california lol)
So, is this a case where he is reminding people of an apparently not very observed national holiday? Or is he pulling a The Drizzle* and trying to claim it as his idea?
*: In an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Shake had some plan to be a superhero, The Drizzle, that made it rain, but it took time for him to set it up. In reality, he wanted hero credit for when it naturally rained and as such crimes were not committed due to said rain. Or in other words, taking credit for something already there/naturally occurring.

He's not the first one to do it, no
I still think its something to get rid of though. It's fucking weird. A day dedicated to celebrating freedom and liberty? Sure. A day dedicated to celebrating your loyalty to the glorious leader? No thank you
i think it's unsettling all of your presidents have said that
I was gonna come up with a snarky reply but then I realized that it'd fall on deaf ears being that I'm talking to sanius squad 2.0

at what point did he say anything about celebrating loyalty to him? it's about loyalty to the constitution, not the president.

oh well you sure showed him your intellectual superiority by refusing to engage because you assume there won't be a discussion
Sobotonik is not "sanius squad", good god that shit's been over for fucking years, just fucking talk to him like a human being jfc.
I don't care if it's Trump or Obama or fucking David Bowie doing it - this is some dumb cold war stuff. Let it be the international worker's day and not this red scare shite will ya

unless you've sworn an oath of office, your loyalty should be to the ideals the constitution is meant to enforce, not the constitution itself

eh, shorthand.
conviently that's what was stated in the op though. "allegiance to the principles"

sanius squad have been gone for a long time, virtually all of them have been either permabanned or quit the site
i still think its disturbing in a way that there's this national holiday which exists because of the red scare and it was meant to replace a significant day for workers
sanius squad 2.0
well if you're gonna insult someone at least try to be a bit more creative

hence 2.0
if you think that's bad, you should see how valentines day started. the meaning behind just about any holiday changes over time. this one is no different.

You said that people would shit on Trump about this either way
He replies with something that shows it's not really about Trump to him
Then you continue to insult him with this sanius shit while he's trying to reply to you
who's being intellectually dishonest here
hate speech laws, restricted gun access, hilariously inept immigration policies....
are you sure?
Uh no, that's certainly an United States problem. Don't try and project those onto us.
I don't see how restricted gun access is a bad thing, in the slightest. Particularly in Ireland. But not every country in Europe has those types of laws either - Germany doesn't have them.
And hate speech laws are a good thing. Some countries do take them a little far, but not allowing shithead Nazis to get away with spreading their bollocks is a good thing.
EDIT: Europe is in general much, much more free and equal than the United States when it comes to healthcare, education, the rights of LGBT people, minorities, drugs, etc. Most of the systems of governance across Europe are much more democratic than the United States' pathetic political system.
What bothers me too is often the blantant hypocracy of the laws in the States. So you can't drink at 18 but you can join the military, be sent off to war and die? What sort of shite is that?
There are still problems in Europe, particularly in certain states and definitely in Ireland, but I have hope that those can be tackled.
I look at the States and am genuinely frightened for my American friends - because things seem to be getting worse and worse over there all the time, and I have no hope they'll get better.

what the hell is sanius squad 2.0 anyways? is it a group of people you don't like or what?
also who cares about the valentine day thing
the point is that its an established holiday with significance - america already has a bunch of religious holidays like july 4th, MLK day, etc - i don't see what the point of trying to replace it is and why we should do it
That's some mighty fine projection you've got going on there.
dont get me wrong, I know I'm sure footed in my opinions too. I mean that if I'm talking to sobotnik then I may as well talk to a brick. I'm sure he's plenty amicable to the right people but we exist on such opposite ends of the spectrum that we have no hope of civil discourse. I bowed out early because I've already been there before, and remember wasting hours and hours until one or the other gets banned.
I'll show my loyalty to the principles this country was built upon and send trump a hand written letter telling him to go fuck himself with a glass bottle.

I use it as a catch all term for people who fit somewhere in or around sanius's MO. I hate to use the term militant liberal because it's way more charged than is necessary and it shows bias but it's the best I got
also "religious holidays like july 4th" is throwing me for a loop.
it should be noted that we've never celebrated may day or international workers day in the united states. maybe a few early settlers did, but it doesn't happen much at all in the states. the closest we have is labor day, but that's not til september, so I don't get the idea that people have that it's replacing a holiday.

i don't know why you think i'm a liberal, or even a militant one, or even what you consider a militant liberal
idk what you mean by sanius's MO as well, he was mostly a driveby shitposter

it's a pretty shallow idea of a holiday to have "loyalty day" that was created specifically to counter communists (literally the only reason it exists is because of the red scare)
this is especially so when the kind of nationalism espoused by it is the weak kind and shallow kind that folds like a paper tiger
nationalistic coming out of El Naranja Grande's mouth.
I have to remember that nickname, that's pretty good.
He's got some stones uttering those lies about reaffirming the ideals this country was built on, when he's ruling like a tyrant.
How is he ruling like a tyrant? What unilateral actions against American citizens has he taken?
How is he ruling like a tyrant? What unilateral actions against American citizens has he taken?
I don't think you know what "unilateral" means. An "unilateral" action would simply mean an action taken by one party (In this case Trump or perhaps Republicans in general) which would affect other parties, without the mutual agreement of all those parties.
Trump/Republicans have taken plenty of unilateral actions. As does any president or any political party with power, all the time. It means nothing.
Are they "against American citizens"?
That's vague as shit. What's an action that's "against American citizens"?
I can certainly find many things Trump and Republicans both have done that many Americans would think is disagreeable, terrible, or even a direct attack on them and/or their values and ideals. I'm assuming that's not what you mean because I'm sure you could find that as well.
I derive no meaning from your sentence. Think you could rephrase yourself or otherwise better explain what you intended to say?
