Religion fails.
If God cursed Eve by making women feel pain while giving child birth for committing the original sin, and the Virgin Mary was without original sin, did she feel pain when she gave birth to Jesus?
Religion fails.
Well it keeps people busy. If you made a religion and had followers it gives you a since of power. Sure you might be an atheist at heart but having the right to tell people what's right and what's wrong. Tell me, how isn't that entertaining?

Texas. Oh, Texas; when will you stop being so fucking crazy? I'm seriously waiting for Texas to succeed from the U.S.. Give it another 10 years, you'll see.
I wish almost all the athiests on Facepunch weren't arrogant assholes who push their beliefs (or lack of) on people.
I wish almost all the athiests on Facepunch weren't arrogant assholes who push their beliefs (or lack of) on people.
It's not like we start this shit. We only retaliate when someone says that we're stupid for hating something completely retarded. I can guarantee that if they started teaching science in Church than Christians would be outraged. And we're not pushing our beliefs on anyone, if a Christian can't take criticism than they can just leave the thread.
Oh wow, another thread Lankist took a shit on. I live in East Texas, and I can already see the shitstorms that will be brewing in Town Hall meetings all over.
Oh wow, another thread Lankist took a shit on.
oh wow, look at that, nobody cares
oh wow, look at that, nobody cares
Oh wow, look at that, being an asshole as usual. Fact of the matter is, I'm in College so this doesn't affect me. My nephew however might be, he goes to public school.
Makes sense, they ain't forcing people to be religious, only that they know about Christianity. Also the bible the the book that makes most people Atheists.
Makes sense, they ain't forcing people to be religious, only that they know about Christianity. Or any of the other religions period? Hinduism is a lot more acceptable on a moral basis than Christianity is. [editline]11:13AM[/editline] How about Buddhism, Buddhists never hurt anybody.
Yeah, if they are going to be doing something like this at least have it in a general class, or more optional courses covering certain religions.
I'm fine with Religious Studies as an elective course if it's ALL religions and not just Christianity.
The bible has effected our laws a lot. Thou shall not kill could not have been thought of without the help of our trusty bible. :v:
But it's just a fairy tale with no value whatsoever!
Because the bible has better morals than both of those combined.
But the Quran has actual scientific facts
Then why won't they teach this? That sucker had some impact alright.
They do teach WWII History. [editline]11:18AM[/editline] That's a bad example yo.
Come on, guys, this is Texas, you can't really think the class has any goal other than to coerce people into being Christians. The ACLU is going to fuck them up for this.
I'm fine with Religious Studies as an elective course if it's ALL religions and not just Christianity.
Yeah, exactly as I feel.
Makes sense, they ain't forcing people to be religious, only that they know about Christianity. Also the bible the the book that makes most people Atheists.
i don't think it's the bible that turns people atheist i think it's rationality
Texas. Oh, Texas; when will you stop being so fucking crazy? I'm seriously waiting for Texas to succeed from the U.S.. Give it another 10 years, you'll see.
Yeah we'll take our Dr Peppers with us and never return.
My parents said I was an accident. Was Jesus an accident? Doesn't that make Jesus like Hercules?
Naw, Zeus fucked so many people already he must of just come to terms that he is gonna birth another child sooner or later.
Naw, Zeus fucked so many people already he must of just come to terms that he is gonna birth another child sooner or later.
No, Disney is right. Hera and Zeus LOVED each other!
The majority of american's are christian, so an understanding of the bible and all the jazz it brought with it is more relevant than studiying budisum or other religions. It's most likely that they will be covered in the class aswell though, as my Religious Education class covers alot of different religions and stff.
I say Judaism has affected quite a bit of our history and laws, so the Torah should be taught along side. I mean if we're going to teach these things "based on relevance to our history" and all.
Woah. Wait What? I never heard of this and I live in Texas. I'm Christian, but I still think there should be a seperation of church and state, mainly because when there isn't, everybody automatically thinks, "FUCKING CHRISTIANSJFKASJFKA" and get all bitchy about it.
