Now you're just being thick.
As far as I know that term isn't used in the UK. I've never heard it. According to Google, it's this:
an unnecessarily aggressive and unfair remark directed at a defenseless person
Now, doesn't that also describe this:
Good, i always thinked that british kids sound so fucking annoying.
accurately?
How are they the worst if so many people love their games?
Charge $60 for a game that warrants a, at most, $40 price tag. They've released too many CODs and too many Guitar Heroes.
This will not happen because the UK does not give a flying fuck.
"Cheap-shot"? Not familiar with that term.
You know what I meant. But the term, "cheap-shot" is referring to the fact that you have nothing to attack his statement with other than that uncapitalized letter "i".
Grammar doesn't determine if you're intelligent or not anyway.

Um.
Good, i always thinked that british kids sound so fucking annoying.
The correct word is "think", in case you weren't aware of that.
Oh my god I swear to god this forum is more annoying than the actual MW2 community when it comes to discussing this series. IW screwed PC Gamers over, we know! The singleplayer's more cinematic and doesn't involve the players much, we know! The multiplayer has douchey killstreaks and fucking ridiculous perks, we fucking know! Get over it you whiney man-children. You don't like it? Don't fucking waltz into a thread about it. I am just as sick of hearing people whine and complain about CoD as I am of people lauding its greatness.
People aren't saying that CoD should be banned because it's offensive, they are saying that it should be banned because they don't like it.
[editline]29th May 2011[/editline]
Please, quit using grammar as a "cheap-shot".
Well if you had a cancerous growth you would remove it. Most people see CoD as nothing more than a massive cancerous growth. It might be fun having it but in the end it will just hurt you as a whole.
It's only a matter of time until shareholders in your favorite devs and their respective publishers say:
"Why can't we be more like Activision? They're highly successful. I say we pressure them to push out more of our profitable games"
I don't hate the game. I hate it's method of creation and it's impact on the current gaming scene.
Wow it's like every time a COD game is mentioned there can't be a thread with at least one post on the bandwagon.
But, your Saving the UK from the Russians, how is that in poor taste?
Silly Daily Mail.

The phrase your're looking for is "Ad Hominem". Also, usually intelligent people use correct grammar when they speak or type, so it can determine ones intellect.
Anyway, wanting this game banned because it's a generally unlikable game among the hardcore gaming fanbase is wrong. What's the difference between getting this game banned and getting say, Skyrim banned? Once this gets banned, what's to say that other games won't get banned?
If they think MW3 is hyper-realism, I can't even begin to fathom what they will do to ArmA 3...
Will they... Rape it? D:
Anyone wishing that it is banned (even in jest), even if they hate what the CoD series has become is a fucking moron in my opinion.
As for the real issue at hand, something being in poor taste is not a valid reason to ban it. At least not in a modern western democratic country.
I do seriously hope it is not banned for obvious reasons (freedom of speech anyone??), but I can't see it happening to be honest.
Far worse games have been released in the UK. I think the only game that has actually been banned in the UK is Manhunt 2, and even then that wasn't quite a real ban (Take2 just didn't sell it after the BBFC refused to classify it, which is not a legal requirement to sell a video game in the UK).
This is almost as stupid as the people who wanted MoH banned because you could play as the Taliban in MP.

ArmA isn't really a mainstream series, so it probably won't be touched. Besides, they always use fictional environments based upon real heightmaps. Takistan is so painfully fictional that it hurts, yet the terrain is from a real area.

Its not the realism that is the issue, its the fact that it touches on a sensitive spot (mainly for Daily Mail readers) by having a level set in London. It would be no different to Americans demanding it to be banned if there was a level where you flew planes into buildings.
If MW2 didn't get banned for its level where you just massacre civilians, I cannot see why MW3 should be banned. The level probably exists for the purpose of telling a story, in the same way that a book or film might have a terrorist attack in London in it as part of the story.
I mean come on, Four Lions is entirely legal in the UK and that is a Jihad satire film.
Call of Duty sucks.
What if it's good? Well, then i will slaugter every fanboy and kill the survivors with fire.
What if it's good?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Hahahahahahah CoD is not one bit realistic.
It is realistic,a tiny bit,but still,if it was so real then it would be extremely hard or ludicrous, witch nobody wants.

yeah because nobody wants to play Battlefield 3 i mean it too realistic lul
It is realistic,a tiny bit,but still,if it was so real then it would be extremely hard or ludicrous, witch nobody wants.
CoD isn't realistic in a sense of gameplay, but it is somewhat photorealistic, which is probably what the article is referring to.
Haven't there already been a few movies with subways being blown up?
What's so different?
I can feel the National IQ going up from here
I know its the daily mail and they are, as always, full of shit, but if this did actually happen I'd take great pleasure In watching all the idiots that live near me freaking out. Last time I tried to converse with some of the people on my street they just talked about how "Awesome modern warfare 2" is.
If they can get away with mow'ing the airport down in mw2 they'll probably be fine.
Wow people its just a video game.
[editline]29th May 2011[/editline]
Movies are more realistic and they don't get banned for this shit
Can someone please give me some reasons why everyone hates Call of Duty?
I love the Daily Fail's shenanegins
Can someone please give me some reasons why everyone hates Call of Duty?
Oh jesus where to start.
Milking, firing everyone at infinity ward, tactic00l weapons, dumb fanbase, ridiculous cheesy stories, nothing original or innovative, short campaigns, bad multiplayer and £10 DLC's.
[editline]29th May 2011[/editline]
to name a few
Russia tore apart the US in the MW2 campaign.. And we didn't complain.
