ArmA isn't really a mainstream series, so it probably won't be touched. Besides, they always use fictional environments based upon real heightmaps. Takistan is so painfully fictional that it hurts, yet the terrain is from a real area.
Takistan.
Next time your'e in Tacticoolistan and your enemies are legions of 12 year olds with assault rifles that weigh as much as a fully loaded M60
The ironic thing is that I saw it being advertised on TV at work today.
(I live in the UK obviously)

Then they came for some stupid war game and I was like eh whatever.
It's a bloody game not a religion.

I don't understand why this is a negative. They are not forcing anyone to buy a single thing.

It's because Call of Duty is the stupidest game ever, yet it's the most popular.
I love all the anti cod. It really is a fine game and atmospheric just happens to be made by a heartless uncaring company with multilayer flooded by 12 yearolds.
I don't really play COD I don't actually own any of the games but that dosent mean the games should be banned. Anyone who enjoys it should have the right to play it. If you don't like it no one is asking you to buy it. I'm not going to buy it but I'm not going to call for its ban or celebrate if it is.

Its a slippery slope, you ban a game because its poor taste and next week you are arresting people for saying bad things.
Anyone disagreeing with banning Call of Duty (the worst "popular" game there is) has no taste in games.

Cute.
I disagree with the banning video games in general. While this "situation" in particular is just the daily mail being themselves, it's quite sad you guys want to support banning a video game because you don't like it. If they could successfully ban MW3, who's to say they won't take a shot any other upcoming titles you might actually like?
I remember reading somewhere the reading age for the daily mail was 11 years old or something.
Facepunch completely loses its mind every time Call of Duty gets mentioned, and I don't get it.
Why Facpunch, why do you care so much about trivial things?

I think it's a damn fun game.

That's it, if I ever win the lottery, I'm buying my own island and calling it Tacticoolistan.
Oh jesus where to start.
Milking, firing everyone at infinity ward, tactic00l weapons, dumb fanbase, ridiculous cheesy stories, nothing original or innovative, short campaigns, bad multiplayer and £10 DLC's.

to name a few
Milking - I'll give you that one
Firing everyone at Infinity Ward - Not that it really matters, but it was a dick move. Activision's fault, and tbh, I think they quit by themselves when they saw where this was heading.
Tacticool weapons - ... Jesus, what the fuck does everyone expect in the year 2014 or whatever? To be using Mosin Nagants and AK-47's with their first furniture? This is the worst reason to cry about and makes me cringe when someone actually points that out. SURE, some weapons do look sort of retarded when they get their ass railed, but ffs you guys take it to the next level.
Dumb fanbase - You owe that to the consoles, and you can't deny that. And to be honest, you have a bit of this in just about any game. Assholes with a huge inflated ego telling you they did your whole family everywhere. I never got why is that funny...
Ridiculous cheesy stories - What the hell do you expect from a FPS? Talk about being picky...
Nothing original - Not like you can improve a FPS alot. But still true.
Short campaigns - I don't really find them short because I don't SPEEDRUN THEM. They aren't big, but they aren't small either. You know what's small? Portal 1. THAT was small (just pointing out) but still a great game.
Bad multiplayer - Why? The imbalances in MW2 are what makes it fun to me. You can use them in soo many ways. I find other games that have a good multiplayer (or assumedly have) to be soo fucking annoying that they were a waste of money SOLELY because of that.
15€ DLC - That's awfull, hence why I don't buy them. But I agree, they should be free.
There are more and more important problems that IMO are what fuck up CoD, but the negative points in here that I pointed out are some of the worst alright.

Oh hey look at you on your high horse.
Call of Duty is a fun game dude, just not in the same way as other games.
Russia tore apart the US in the MW2 campaign.. And we didn't complain.
Because it was made by americans. If it was made by russians, it would be called something among the lines of "horrible comunist manslaughter game of inoccent americans" or something and get banned.
Surprised IW wasn't called anti-american now that I think about it...

Nah, their fanbase and "hatebase" is just too stupid to realise that they can just pass on buying the game and stop being idiots constantly raging about it.

The Ranger missions were by far the more enjoyable and memorable ones in the game, what makes you think we'd get into an uproar if it was made by another country.
Besides, wasn't it Russia that got angry and tried to ban it due to the No Russian mission?

Imagine if it was Russia who did the game exactly as it is. I'd imagine that someone would get pissed at it the same way Russia got pissed at the No Russian part.
Fuck yes
Conservative media makes me chuckle again.
Kind of depressing how our society's "democracy" is becoming less about freedom and the people and more about control and inviduals.
Hahaha. Load of bollocks. The games industry has a huge influence on the public. They wouldn't dare, this game will have millions of kids buying it thus more tax income. It's just not practical
If they're going to ban it over the whole train thing then why wasn't V for Vendetta banned?
we are saved

Don't you think the biggest publishing company that published the most popular FPS game to date would have a teensy bit of influence on other publishers?

Why the fuck does everyone hate the game? The playerbase sucks, but I want to play it damn it.
I hope the entire CoD series gets banned in the US, I'm sick and fucking tired of hearing "call of duty on xbox is best all other games is faggots :downs:"
Censorship hooooooooooo!
The amount of stupid in this thread from idiots hopping on the game hate bandwagon is impressive. It'd be like if I was at the grocery store and saw someone picking out a box of Lucky Charms and I turned and yelled at them "Are you five?! You sure are an idiot, why they don't just ban that cereal I'll never know. I hate it. My cereal is much better. You're stupid for liking what I don't like."
It's god damn cereal, it's a god damn game. Someone playing something in the privacy of their own home is not effecting you in any way shape or form. Stop being so childish.
Kind of depressing how our society's "democracy" is becoming less about freedom and the people and more about control and inviduals.
It's more less about freedom and the people and more about money and consumerism. You're free to do whatever you want as long as you continue to be a consumer and don't keep others from consuming.
