We'll miss you Callum, just hang in there buddy, we'll see each other again soon enough.
Oh god.
you cannot justify laughing at an 11 year old who accidentally hanged himself
Human emotion does not convey well through text. We do not mourn for the death of this kid because we didn't know him, and we do not feel sad for the parents because the news article isn't written so that their grief could be related to easily. It is obvious that if the people joking were attending the kid's funeral, they would not make those jokes. It's therefore not an indication of the jokers' lack for empathy, it's just a fault of the medium. You shouldn't doubt their emotional maturity. Jokes can be made to salvage something good out of this misfortunate event. His death has already happened, the damage is done. Laughing at it doesn't change what has happened and it doesn't insult those affected by it because they will never know. Entertaining us and not causing any harm, joking has a net value. Besides, if you think that death and dead people are something people with common sense shouldn't and wouldn't joke about, you're just laying foundation for jokes. All jokes have something unconventional, they all break expectations. Wouldn't something no one jokes about be ideal for jokes then?
Wouldn't have happened if he had a PS3. Xbox has that stupid "plug-your-accessories-into-the-controller" 1990's crap. He probably got tangled into the microphone-to-controller cable.
i call bs, because unless he was using a corded controller, which ISN'T standard with an xbox, i don't see how a cord for his xbox would be on his bunkbed.

That cable is thin and goes to the controller, that's even less probable than getting tangled up in an actual controller cord.
i call bs, because unless he was using a corded controller, which ISN'T standard with an xbox, i don't see how a cord for his xbox would be on his bunkbed.
Original Xbox?
this is why we have wireless controllers now
i read the title as "Boy bangs himself while playing XBox"
I couldn't even tie a noose if i tried, let alone fall and make one mid-air while playing xbox. Soccer moms are going to go apeshit about cords next i guess.

Nooses are used because their length can be easily adjusted to suit the neck of the condemned.
This makes absolutely no sense at all.
We'll miss you Callum, just hang in there buddy, we'll see each other again soon enough.
Now that's just harsh you heartless bastard, death isn't funny.
I want specifics on what cable it was, because it sure as hell wasn't the controller. And news stories are always so unspecific, was it an XBox 1 or a 360?
They shouldve given the kid fucking Legos. This way he could've accidently choked on them when he realized his mother already made him dinner.
I would bet that it was the AUX cable because those don't come out of the TV so easily and the other end is kind of bulky and may have gotten stuck on something.
What kind of idiot doesn't notice a cord wrapped around his neck like that? I don't understand how/why you'd have the cable over your neck in the first place.
At least he controlled the way he died.
I want to see a diagram of the Xbox, the bunkbed, and where the kid was sitting. It is hard to imagine he didn't pull the controller out of the port or knock the console over.
I bet he was playing MW2.
i'm sorry, how exactly do you hang yourself with a controller cord
Wow, wow.
How exactly does that happen, did he superglue it to the controller port? I've yanked pretty hard on controller cables that I've become inadvertently tangled in, and every single time either the controller unplugged from the console or the console flew at the floor.
How exactly does that happen, did he superglue it to the controller port?
and then the xbox to the floor.
I don't know about you people but those Xbox 360 Cables are fucking thick
video games cause violence!
Why did he even have a wired controller in the first place. And why do all these kids hang themselves with video game controllers anyway, it's like a fad.
I don't know about you people but those Xbox 360 Cables are fucking thick
But they're pretty easy for someone that age to disconnect, unless they're somehow super-attached to the console.

invest in wireless controllers next time...wait-
Coping mechanism.
Call it what you want. Most people here are making jokes in an attempt to be funny and whore ratings.
