Why are people rating this winner?
because a dude who there wasn't enough evidence to convict wasn't convicted.

usually cops do catch criminals, it's infact the hollywood view that criminals tend to get away with high profile crimes.
motiveless, gainless crimes with little chance of leaving evidence on the other hand are probably p hard to solve but why would anyone aside from the rare looney do stuff like that?
alot of emo faggots on the internet sometimes fantasize about all kinds of perfect crimes but if even 1/4th of them carried out with the plans instead of fapping to them then the earth would drown in blood.
Most perfect crimes are not planned, they are done in the moment and the criminal gets lucky that certain things go your way.
For instance, in this case it sounds like who ever did this killing did it randomly. It's not like this particular cop was targeted. By pure luck for the shooter though, there doesn't seem to be any of the usual bits of evidence left behind. No video, witnesses, DNA, etc. A thousand and one things could have gone wrong for the shooter and it doesn't sound like any of them did. You can't plan that.

Call it what you want, but there is truth behind what I say. You can look at history, recent crimes, etc and you'll see if someone wants you bad enough, they'll get you...
Hell every year my area does a "Warrant round-up" were deputies literally for a week straight do nothing but warrants, they normally get a large amount of people at least within a 100 in a few days.
Even with DNA evidence it was in an alley, so any DNA evidence is just circumstantial.

Crime is a persistent thing, but to say no one ever gets away is just ridiculous.
They cant find the shotgun that was used in the killing of the officer, which is why he walked.
Is it really that simple? Well, finding the murder weapon is crucial, but what were the other implications (if any) that he might have killed the cop with the shotgun?
Anyway, I just wonder if he knows in his mind that he killed the cop, and with or without his lawyer he made it near impossible to prove him guilty, which is by doing the simple notion of hiding something for good.
Is it really that simple? Well, finding the murder weapon is crucial, but what were the other implications (if any) that he might have killed the cop with the shotgun?
Well, if you want to convict someone of this crime, you need motive/means/opportunity. With no murder weapon you have pretty much no chance to show means(how did he do it) or opportunity(when he could do it).
This is why it's important to dispose of the weapon if you kill someone. It separates you from the crime scene. The problem of course is that the longer you hold on to the weapon, the more likely you are to be caught with it. If you shoot someone, you have to assume the police will come for you, so it's a race to see if you can make that gun disappear before the cops pick you up.
eh, they always find their man.
You can run, but eventually you will get caught.
It's true, they don't always catch the guy they're looking for. Hell, they weren't able to get me when I was a crime lord in India with several drug and prostitution rings, so what would make anyone think they'd be able to catch a random crook easily?
Also, I hear they made a movie about those exploits in Bollywood, way back. And then came the revivals.

But not for cops. They always get the killer of cops. Maybe not today, maybe not in 10 years, but they will solve it.

Those cop-killing bastards will have justice served onto them, and they shall die!
Just give them 80 or so years.
:v:
Also, the weapon they are looking for is a sawed-off 20g shotgun.
All this is going on while his funeral is in progress

Technically the title is correct, the cop's killer still walks around as a free man.
A shotgun is going to be hard to tie to the case. It's not like a handgun or rifle, which leaves marks on the bullet.
Beyond identifying the type of firearm, ballistic fingerprinting is pretty crap for identifying individual firearms.

yeah but we all know areolop is referencing the man who is currently innocent and calling him a cop killer because his entire identity on fp revolves around getting really really worked up over cop-related stories. like 90% of those "you dont get on the news for doing your job RIGHT" posts are by him lol
But not for cops. They always get the killer of cops. Maybe not today, maybe not in 10 years, but they will solve it.
Ok, so what magic technique is it they employ for police personnel that they don't use for the rest of us for some untold reason? Sometimes, you just don't have the evidence.
They're willing to dump more resources into a cop killer than a normal one.
seems a bit silly to spend excess resources on a dated investigation while there are plenty of recent cases to handle
They're are willing to dump more resources into a cop killer than a normal one.
I think the technical term for this is "wasting time and money".
yeah, because they don't have any significant evidence to keep him locked up or even to implicate that he was the one who killed the officer. i don't see how that's "sickening"
yeah police lives are a lot more valuable than regular old people lives
I know there was no evidence, I was just saying cop killers make me sick
And I know what you're getting at, but i have this opinion for my own reasons
