• Apple banned from Importing iPhone

I think that my favorite part of this thread is Daniel M assuming that if anyone disagrees with him, they must be jerking off Steve Jobs under the table and clearly own several Apple products. I mean why else would someone disagree with such a perfect, well-rounded argument?? Just kidding you seriously post like you're a 13 year old.
I don't have a phone, I don't want to show them anything. It's annoying sitting down in the morning and seeing about 1,000 different girls doing nothing but looking down at this shiny plastic piece of shit texting or something not talking to friends or anything. Though this isn't necessarily karma or anything and it's really just showing how much the system can fuck up, not really a winner for anyone.
I get annoyed with this too; especially when I'm hanging out with my friends or even my girlfriend. As much as cell phones and other general technology has brought the world closer together it has done a lot to drift us apart. I'm at a point to where if I see my girlfriend mindlessly browsing/playing/texting on her phone when we're spending time together I tell her to stop because it's rude and inconsiderate; at least we could pretend that we're somewhat interested in one another.
I'm going to be flat out honest here, if I was ever going to get a laptop for other work when I leave school and have to hand back the Dell shitboxes because there's no way im going to buy them back. I would consider purchasing an Apple Laptop, the touchpads are awesome, well built to last a good amount of time, fast & reliable and also that most of the software on Windows are on Mac and there are great alternatives. Whereas Linux, the alternatives are sloppy and most times you'll need to use WINE for everything, I rather native programs than fucking emulators
Don't mean to be that guy, but WINE is not an emulator, it's a compatibility layer. (ie, no code is recompiled/interpreted).
free software with no enterprise-level support that comes bundled with 0% of pre-built computers is not competition to windows.
Dell used to sell laptops with Ubuntu installed
then they realized how stupid it was
Should've rolled with Linux Mint instead. And Apple DID indeed "steal" from others, yet throws hissyfits when other companies does the same with some of their products. Apple is the epitome of a elitist and arrogant company, it's even around the same level as Oracle. Dirty tricks all around and bending laws to their favor with their horde of lawyers.

Ban it's import because it's made in inhumane sweatshops like Foxconn. Ban any product found to be made in inhumane working conditions.
I don't havezzzzzzzzzzzzWHY AREN@T THESE GIRLS SHOWING ME THEIR BOOBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!or anyone.

Steve Jobs directly controlled development of EVERY Apple product.
citation needed, apple has a LOT of products. It's not like everything they've made is stolen, that's just wrong.
Ban it's import because it's made in inhumane sweatshops like Foxconn. Ban any product found to be made in inhumane working conditions.
youre asking for every electronic thing to be banned i hope u realize that
linux will never see mainstream use in the format that you know it because linux is terrible to use in general.
That's a generalization that sounds like it comes from a lack of experience. I've only used Ubuntu, and even that was not "terrible to use in general". My only real issue was that I couldn't use the same software.

I've dabbled in linux distros like ubuntu, linux mint, and fedora but it was always just a pain to set up, look at garrys blog / tweets or whatever, he can't even get ubuntu set up with drivers and it's been like what 2 weeks of him trying to figure it out. It simply isn't a consumer OS. The future of computers is getting out of the way of the user. Linux is exactly the opposite of this right now because linus is a stuck up prick that wants to retain some sort of weird nerd exclusivity. On top of all of that is almost nothing being made for it and it's just a waste of time trying to learn everything again when you already have something that works.

I've always just been able to install it and do whatever I need to. The only genuine problem I've had is my built-in bluetooth not working at all, but it doesn't even work right in Windows.

The only genuine problem I've had is my built-in bluetooth not working at all, but it doesn't even work right in Windows.
My experiences with linux were awful. There isn't anywhere near enough consistency with driver support that it will ever take off IMO. Getting video card drivers to work was just the worst, and if you've got something else like a camera or something that you need drivers for then just forget about any accessories working. The whole terminal thing should've died in the '80s but for some reason it's still around, etc. I've never had a pleasant experience with linux, the one distro I have gotten everything to work on was puppy linux on a super old PC of mine, and even that took like a week to figure it all out, and in the end I still felt like I was just on a gimped computer because nothing actually ran on it apart from a browser.
My experience with Linux was that it works well enough to use daily, and if you have any semblance on how to use the terminal you can do a lot of stuff, but the user experience is just not comparable to Windows and OS X in any way, shape or form.
It's almost like Visual Studio does the same thing!
You can't seriously be unaware of the fact that you can use things other than VS, can you?
You can't seriously be unaware of the fact that you can use things other than VS, can you?
Not for Windows 8 apps and .NET development. (Okay, there are open source .NET IDEs, but Microsoft still manages core WPF and .NET still compiles to Windows with the exception of Mono.) [editline]6th June 2013[/editline] Also, you can't seriously be unaware of the fact that you can use things other than XCode, can you? :downs:
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but, what does this actually mean then? Does it mean that people can't buy iPhone and iPad 2 from Apple online and have it delivered in the US? Does it mean that they will no longer sell iPhone or iPad 2 in American Apple stores? Additionally, is this in effect immediately or does it happen later?
i read an article about this yesterday, basiclly it means carriers like ATnT and Verizon who sell the older apple crap at lower prices or for free with contracts can't import those phone models any more, serves apple right, they shoulda moved production of iphones to the u.s. long ago to get around the oncomming ban
i read an article about this yesterday, basiclly it means carriers like ATnT and Verizon who sell the older apple crap at lower prices or for free with contracts can't import those phone models any more, serves apple right, they shoulda moved production of iphones to the u.s. long ago to get around the oncomming ban
then the production AND import would instead be banned.
Also, you can't seriously be unaware of the fact that you can use things other than XCode, can you? :downs:
Wasn't even talking about XCode. I'm not in the mac vs. pc shitting fest here, I just wanted to point out what you said.
I wish it was the new apple stuff, so that teenage girls can't get what they want.
Competition drives the market.
who the fuck cares why does it matter if people would rather a mac why do you care how people spend their money
BECAUSE THEIR OPINIONS ARE WRONG!!! THEY MUST BE FIXED!!!!!
Wasn't even talking about XCode. I don't think either company treats them bad, I'm just making the case that when it comes to development and proprietary IDEs Microsoft does the same damn shit.
