your (and most people who play tf2's) opinion is that tf2 is getting new and fresh content
my opinion is that they're ruining and complicating the original gameplay by adding weapons with slightly modified stats and models taken from other parties (the workshop), the ones that are actually new and fun to play with taking loads of grinding to get, and adding hats and new levels of "quality and rarity" to items so that the already terrible economy gets even worse
Okay, if that's what you think, but there's one massive flaw to that cartoon.
Valve are adding content that they believe improves the game. That guy took shit in the burger, KNOWING it makes it worse.
Still changes it permanently.
I enjoy BF3 more than Bad Company 2 I don't know why I just do.
The great gunplay and smoothness of it all is what kept me playing it a lot.
It's a shame that they got almost everything else wrong and will probably continue to do so.
If we had the classic DICE back with the new style of gunplay, I would be all over that.

But what if you just accidentally poop in the burger?
So I'm guessing Battlefield 4 will be coming out next year then, with that limited development time, chances are it's going to bomb. I don't think you can get the games out of that vicious cycle now.

I prefer Bad Company 2 more than BF3. I dont know why though. Maybe because it was less serious. I just had more fun than BF3.
wow.
Team Fortress 2 was released in 2007. Free updates and such and their entire game is completely different from when it was first released.
But no, instead of doing free updates, they want our money. Well fuck off.
Keep in mind TF2 has quite a lot of cash-grabs since the Mann. CO store was introduced, they're very decent compared to other F2Ps though

It's funny because this is what EA did to the Battlefield franchise, minus the free part.
oh no a company is earning money ohhhh nnnnoooo
I don't see the majority complaining about it, in fact I don't see anyone outside reddit/v/fp circlejerks complaining about it
If people didn't like them releasing DLC and barely modified games they would stop that and it wouldn't be a viable business strategy
But it's legitimate to complain. EA can't decrease the delay between games without also decreasing their quality. If I was interested in EA franchises I'd be pissed because that means I'd have to pay more for poor quality content.
And maybe a lot of people enjoy buying the same game and DLC every year but it doesn't mean it isn't shit. Also I doubt it is a viable business strategy in the long run, people will get tired of buying the same game after a while.
wow WOW actually using IGN scores to say how good your game is 10/fuckin10
A moment of silence, ladies and gentlemen.

*the company's* game. That's a news source writing, not EA.
with their wide profit margins hopefully this means EA will push out free content to reward their loyal fans.
EA please fire your PR crew into the sun thanks in advance
Hasn't there always been a new Battlefield game every 1-2 years?
All I need is a vanilla game mode. That is literally all that needs to be done to get like every single TF player that has given up on it back.
All you need for that is to take down the item servers.
"We're trying to be different from CoD"
they have become the monster they swore to destroy
how dramatic
Isn't the EA CEO or CFO an ex-Coca Cola CEO? It's not that surprising that they'd be willing to trash their own product for money. The brand name of Battlefield is now renowned enough to get all the COD kids on board, which is a huge market.
$$$
actually i think its more due to the fact that it was made by criterion and as a result the game is practically burnout paradise: police and licensed manufacturers edition

I don't like some of the new content that is introduced to TF2, but fact is that I simply wouldn't play it if it was still vanilla content only.
So compared to not playing the game at all, I'd rather play the game with some weapons that I think suck. You get used to most of it anyway, I still have a great experience when I play.
Looking forward to BF2014

And BFManager2014, can't forget that
I wonder when John Ravioli is going to leave EA. He's literally the worst person in videogames.

Hopefully, John Fettucini will sink EA to the point of no recovery.
There's nothing left of EA to save, the company is toxic.
EA have dug their own grave by lying to investors and using smoke and mirrors to hide how bad everything is going.
Regarding the TF2 discussion, the game went from pay-if-you-want to give money or you won't get the cool stuff.
The transition was long and smooth to ensure that people wouldn't catch on and call them out.
Valve also have the good fortune to have a very strong white-knighting fanbase that will defend everything they do without caring about the outcome
EA pls no
Not that hard to make them billion dollar anual franchises when you shit them every year.

EA isn't that fucked, they just have really bed rep and a really shitty CEO.
the fifa series has had some pretty great progress over the years in terms of development. not to mention the updated teams and such. sounds like a really easy way to make a lot of money (they dont have to change too much to get people to buy it) but it satisfies the customer. cannot say the same for battlefield though.
It's so funny because, about the time Battlefield 3 was released, I said EA was going to go the route of Call of Duty and just shit out another one every year or two to get massive amounts of money, and people became incredibly hostile and said I didn't know what I was talking about.
Half of EA's revenue for FIFA comes from my group of "friends" who repeatedly destroy their copies of FIFA in rage and then buy another.
KILL. YOUR. FUCKING. SELF. EA.
Please?
Oh god no....someone kill me please. :suicide:
