It's his own damn fault. first of all he was using a grip known as 'Open Enough' which is banned, This is why. Secondly the max weight he was able to lift in training was 160kg, and this was 185kg

That spotter is death personified. I wonder how many people he's spotted for in the past who have died or suffered massive injuries while he just stood there and watched. He's so nonchalant about the whole thing you know he's done this before.

I pulled the video up on my phone at the gym, noone went on the bench press, and 5 people went to the staff to demand for the fitness trainers to come spot them haha.

The spotters shouldn't have let him do it. It's important to note though that people generally can do more outside of training on an event day (1 rep max, unless you're saying that his was 160)

Luckily everything was okay and he didn't get hurt too much because the spotters managed to pick it up fast enough and the bench shirt protected him sufficiently enough for him not to get hurt.
