I actually think this post is genuinely funny, considering what post is right above it.

Actually it's “I detest what you write, but I would give my life to make it possible for you to continue to write.” Written by Evelyn Beatrice Hall in The Friends of Voltaire.
America was founded upon the idea of merotocracy but is now based on keeping the 1% happy. It's sick at the core of it's society and a protest won't help.
apparently thats a wedding reception
old news
Really?
Goddamnit, that ruins the awesome narrative.

and really I think the issue is more divided among the rich than people think.
please spread this around (from a british friend of mine):
one thing that i think may make a difference is to protest with your dollars. that is the only language that these people understand. choose to buy local, support small business, take your money out of banks and put it in credit unions, cut up your credit cards, LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS, pay attention to what you are investing in, ride your bike, carpool, turn OFF the tv, go outside and get some exercise.
i dunno what the answer is, but i'm glad people are at least starting to wake up and show that they are not happy with the status quo. americans have a reputation for being fat, lazy and apathetic, so i'm happy to see all this go down.

and really I think the issue is more divided among the rich than people think.
Doubtful. Rich people look at this and see a vast conspiracy to take their money away from them, and that's why massive amounts of money are pouring into Republican campaigns and anti-reform lobbying.

You're ignoring bill gates, warren buffet, ace greenberg, henry bloch, harry sloan and even ben stein

I honestly don't think so, what kind of 'conspiracy' do the ~10% of the population that are unemployed and the 20-30% that are facing really hard times have the capability to pull off? They know this, I think they just want to hold on to their money. It's greed.

Who do you think is protesting?
Not sure if posted yet, but here's a video feed:

Apparently police have shut down Brooklyn Bridge, blocking in protesters and beginning arrests.
There's lots of clips on there, and they posted about Brooklyn Bridge on www.occupywallst.org

Yep, the group of protestors is so large that those at the back are unable to even tell what is going on at the front now. Also, we broke 20,000 viewers on the stream a little while back.

I may be late, but I figure better to post anyway just in case. Wonder what'll happen next.

Well shit. Oh well, haha
A group of US Marine veterans is coming to join the protesters: http://www.facebook.com/wardpeace/posts/10150324010877362
I didn't fight for Wall St. I fought for America. Now it's Congress' turn.
My true hope, though, is that we Veterans can act as first line of defense between the police and the protester. If they want to get to some protesters so they can mace them, they will have to get through the Fucking Marine Corps first. Let's see a cop mace a bunch of decorated war vets.
They'll be in uniform.
Additionally, the groups supporting the protest or will be are these:
Industrial Workers of the World
United Federation of Teachers
Transit Workers Union
Electrical Workers Union
there may be more, I'll keep checking.
Holy cow there are a lot of people.
ben stein
hah fuck that guy.
he thinks evolution is bad because it was directly responsible for the holocaust.

That is fucking awesome.
If I lived closer, I would definitely be going to this

same, I tried to stage an 'occupy canterbury' but it didn't work out very well
I may drive up to Cincinnati next weekend for a gathering there
Occupy Oslo, Oslo is as big as wall street :v:
Seems like every single time I try to get down there, I never can. Couldn't go yesterday because of the damn rain and my metro card stopped working, and I can't go during the week because of school. Has anybody been able to drop by and get a first person view of what's going on down there?
Occupy Los Angeles started this morning. According to my friend who is there, there are over 3000 people currently. I hope to go out tonight.

Hope Cincinnati has something like that, I don't want to drive 2 1/2 hours just to sit there with 10 people.
Excuse me, I meant over 6000.
Word is they arrested a 12 year old

Can't confirm her age, so we'll see if it's true. She looks young.
I'll confirm if I can, or someone else can if they hear anything.
I bet you some of the more militant Republicans are going out to buy (more) guns.
