My papaw and I have really awesome discussions about politics and the economy. I need to ask him what he thinks of all this. He's levelheaded, and when he found out my dad was a republican, his response was "He's not rich enough to be a republican."
Saw this on the news today here in Canada, fuck yeah.
This is a really interesting and, honestly, inspiring thing. I just finished watching the short little "documentary" on it. I don't mean to sound so optimistic and naive, but I think this is what I've been waiting for.

Protesting only looks like idealism when defeatism is the status quo.
Get excited, get energetic. It's a great thing.
I honestly Can't wait till the 8th, thats when the protests start here (indiana) I promise to take lots of pictures.
Theres an organised protest starting here in my home town of victoria, im going to be there protesting. It's not just the US that has issues of corporate greed and political corruption. especially with our conservative government.

That's when the Cincinnati protests start too. Hoping to get a few friends together to go.
You going to Indianapolis?

Yes indeed, well I might not be able to go till the 9th. I bought Riot Fest tickets already and I really want to see the Descendents.
Being that far right should be considered a mental condition.
I just can't figure our how their minds work that way. It makes no sense.

The first comment is a guy who used his truck as his user name. How creative

And if the protesters get violent enough these comments is why I am concerned.

lol you were just a while ago advocating they run trucks through some other protestors
There may be a Occupy thing happening in my city, if it does I'll most likely go and take lots of pictures.

It'll be clean.
After reading their demands, I can't really take the overall goal being presented here very serious.
https://occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-for-occupy-wall-st-moveme/
How the fuck do they think that anyone with any power is going to give those demands any serious thought?
Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and decommissioning of all of America's nuclear power plants.
Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the "Books." World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the "Books." And I don't mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.
These demands will create so many jobs it will be completely impossible to fill them without an open borders policy.
Hahahaha these ones are just silly.
Hahahaha these ones are just silly.
and this one is just ignorant.
These demands will create so many jobs it will be completely impossible to fill them without an open borders policy.
sure, they're some incredibly optimistic "demands" from individual protestors; but I still stand behind the over protest.
why close all nuke plants
only need to fix up the ones closae to fault lines
sure, they're some incredibly optimistic "demands" from individual protestors; but I still stand behind the over protest.
Hardly optimistic, just stupid. While I [somewhat] agree with the protests, letting thirteen year olds write demands is a very dumb move.
