I'm just still absolutely baffled why there is zero media coverage on this at all.
...But I bet you if Lady Gaga let slip one of her titties during a stage performance, we'd know all about it.
To be fair, MSNBC is covering it far better than CNN or Fox. Several of their host shows have done multiple segments on it in support of them, Dylan Ratigan in particular went down to the NYC protest General Assembly and made some friends. One of the main current stories on their front page is about the protests, and they had a front page story on the day of the 700 Brooklyn Bridge arrests.

Here in Canada though, CBC has barely touched the subject. It is a lot of smaller news sources that are focusing on it.
I don't want to sound like a conspiracy nut, but I do think a lot of bigger corporations are seeing this as a threat. Why else would twitter be blocking the protests from trending, big news stations not be covering one of the biggest stores right now (if not THE biggest), and google/youtube censoring search results and banning youtube channels related to the protests?
Of course they're censoring it, it only causes problems for them. They have many workers organisations, which are very influential, involved. I mean, just look at the media blackout
The one demand:
Rename "United States of America" to "Land of the free, home of the Waffle House."

I think O'Reilly has mentioned them two days in a row. But you don't have to guess how that goes.

How would this be a threat to Twitter? Twitter has been there for the past few revolutions in the middle east. If this whole thing is just about ending corporate greed than twitter has nothing to worry about.
There never was a media blackout, but it definitely wasn't until the 400 arrests/Brooklyn Bridge that it saw any coverage.
I don't think the protests in the Arab world got much coverage until they become violent as well. The media will pick up on the truth here soon enough.

Seeing those Fox comments makes me kind of glad CBC comments have an up/downvote system like reddit, keeps comments like "bunch of bums" at the bottom with a -50 while comments like this:

go to the top
It be nice if people from the newspaper start making articles about what's going on here, but everyone aiming for TV instead of other media places.

I think if fox news had a up/down vote system, people (*cough* like me *cough*) would down vote nearly every comment on it.
RT and Democracy Now are covering it a great deal.
Anyone I talk to about it hasn't heard a damn thing, even professors that use current events as topics for discussions. My assumption is they are hoping lack of coverage will make it die down.
I would probably be more partial to RT if they didn't have such a blatant Anti-West bias. In regard to these protests, I'd still say MSNBC is doing the best coverage, but in terms of objective sources, BBC, Al-Jazeera, and NPR are the best.
Been going to Occupy Boston everyday for the last few days doing coverage for my paper, if you're there and you see a guy in a green coat with a notepad say hi :V

NPR has been covering the SHIT out of this.
I'm convinced NPR is the only news source that actually does it's job, report news, largely without spin.

Well, the news portions of NPR I mean.

NPR is quite a good news source, but I think the news portion of their programming is a tad small.
From the footage they use down the the very wording...
"BRAWL STREET" "NYPD BEAT TACTICS BUILDS WALL OF ANGER"
I mean yeah it's pretty obvious the spin being put on it. The different between this and say MSNBC or even Fox really, is that this is the general RT programming, not a "host show".
Here in Canada though, CBC has barely touched the subject. It is a lot of smaller news sources that are focusing on it.
I don't see why the CBC has to bother with it.
I don't see why the CBC has to bother with it.
Because we're having our own Occupy protests, and CBC does global news anyway
After reading their demands, I can't really take the overall goal being presented here very serious.

How the fuck do they think that anyone with any power is going to give those demands any serious thought?
the washington times has just reported on this exact list, today.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2011/oct/3/picket-occupy-wall-street-protesters-post-manifest/
If this is the list the media runs with, I don't think it will help with the protest.

They shouldn't run with it, because they'd be wrong in doing so. There's currently no proper list of demands.

Hahaha, wow.
I can't believe it's happening here also, but although I support this I won't go incase if something erupts.

It should come as no surprise, you are our neighbors after all.
Jersey needs one, I wish they'd organize one here. Problem is where they'd put it.
