the washington times has just reported on this exact list, today.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2011/oct/3/picket-occupy-wall-street-protesters-post-manifest/
If this is the list the media runs with, I don't think it will help with the protest.
I think it's hilarious they reported on a forum post from some random guy.

I love the Fox-esque ending snippet that Washington Times writer posted:
Quite a list of Marxist "demands", indeed. The real question here is if these demands are not met, then what?

It received it's own official-looking page on their site.
link?
... and now Fox has managed to re-post the SAME FUCKING article from the Washington Post. It doesn't surprise me they didn't check the source; the comments don't surprise me either.

I got another Fox article, this one compares the Occupy ______ Movement to the Tea Party Movement.

There are some of the original Tea Party protesters (the original ones, not the co-opted ones) at the protests, you know.
Here's a fourth round of Fox Nation comments:

"These Protesters are Leftist and Obama is a total communist because we say so they can't possibly have different goals!"
Sorry, that's all I'm getting out of it.

From the article:
"I just don't see how it goes anywhere," said Sal Russo, strategist with the Tea Party Express, suggesting the demonstrations have too much of a "Marxist" appeal.
I don't know how you can be a frequent viewer of this shlock.

Thoughts, Glaber?
on what? the comments?
my thoughts are that these are the people you have to win over.
If it's about the original Tea Party protesters at the protests, I'd like a link.
In general, I think the movement needs a common goal. The Tea Party's is the return to the Constitution and Limited Government. I have no idea what the Occupy ______ movement's goal is.

Occupy Wall Street, while largely made up of Progressives, is not a Leftist movement. Their main goal is to create an environment that facilitates honest discussion, without corporate lobbyists and without millions of dollars in campaign donations. Nearly everyone in DC talks about having an honest discussion, but that is almost never possible with how vested corporations are in politicians and their careers.
It'd be crazy if the protesters and the tea partiers went at it on the streets and the cops did nothing about it.

In general, no, they are not. If Progressives could win over a majority of independents in these protests, they'd have no need to pander to the Right-wing group.

Tea Party would win. They'd shoot first and ask questions later.

this, look at the statistics of how a many people normally dont vote. This is about getting everyday people involved again.
Also, if you really want to make a difference, go vote in local elections.

I think what the tea party wants varies from chapter to chapter and state to state. Some want more socially conservative stuff like no abortion and etc, others not so much. How they expect their idealized limited government to enforce these ridiculous things is never elaborated on.

not directly related, but certainly one of the bigger issues of these protests.
EDIT:
Chunkymonkey, what exactly do you find about this post to be dumb? The video itself, or that it was posted; Just curious.
Reagan wants rich people to pay more taxes? What a fucking commie
In the current GOP, Reagan would look like a Communist.
Wow, we've gone from mainstream media blackout to mainstream media smear campaigns.

It's really just Fox and to a lesser extent CNN.
I think O'Reilly has mentioned them two days in a row. But you don't have to guess how that goes.
Does Fox News not realise their comment section is filled with these paranoid schizophrenics? Freud would have a fucking field day with these people.
In the current GOP, Reagan would look like a Communist.
Reagan was a evil bastard who was far right as hell. But he did not bitch and whine like the current GOP. The current GOP is made up of complete children who are against something for the simple principle of being against it. At least Reagan, as evil as he was, stayed with his principles.
Someone e-mailed a Norwegian newspaper and asked why they didn't report on this, but they just responded with "It's not worth our time right now". Wow...

What cretins. Did we tell people it "wasn't worth our time" to report on the Oslo bombing or the crimes of Anders Breivik?
This goes for most of the world though. Media blackout.
This goes for most of the world though. Media blackout.
As for international media, I saw articles on BBC and Al-Jazeera, and again I point out MSNBC. CNN and Fox are writing the protests off as small, but it's no longer a media blackout.
it was getting reported on NZ news earlier on

Anti-capitalist protests in the US that have yet to see any serious changes hardly constitute big news elsewhere.
Im really confused by this, are they protesting to stop people from becoming really rich? I dont get it? What do they want the outcome of this protest to be?
