Anti-capitalist protests in the US that have yet to see any serious changes hardly constitute big news elsewhere.
When the Yemeni, Bahrain, and Libyan protests began was it "not worth the time"?
When the Yemeni, Bahrain, and Libyan protests began was it "not worth the time"?
People were actually dying in those, so yes they were worth the time. [editline]4th October 2011[/editline]
they are protesting about many things, some of which being the large inequality between wages and the fact that wall street practically controls the government by legally bribing them
But what are they actually wanting to achieve?
People were actually dying in those, so yes they were worth the time. [editline]4th October 2011[/editline] But what are they actually wanting to achieve?
Less Corruption. [editline]4th October 2011[/editline] What do you think protesting is?
For anyone in London http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=255151111189948
But what are they actually wanting to achieve?
I'm pretty sure he just said, they are protesting against widespread inequality and corruption. That's what the protests are about
But what are they actually wanting to achieve?
Getting money and undue influence from the 1% out of politics.
When the Yemeni, Bahrain, and Libyan protests began was it "not worth the time"?
Not when they began, no. They weren't of much significance as those kinds of protests aren't that uncommon. Yours doesn't deserve any more worldwide coverage than any other protest. Yet.
Not when they began, no. They weren't of much significance as those kinds of protests aren't that uncommon. Yours doesn't deserve any more worldwide coverage than any other protest. Yet.
Oh yeah, because thousands of protesters spread across major cities, not significant at all. If there were mass protests going on in say, Sydney or Melbourne I'd hope to hear about it.
But what are they actually wanting to achieve?
Immediately, the redaction or reinstation of laws to keep us safe from major economic inequality and corporate control. In the long term, protection from this situation and hopefully reducing economic inequality even further than before. This isn't an ambiguous "protest against being mean". There are achievable, real things that can be done to fix the situation.

It's significance is on par to that of New Zealand or Thailand.

The sign says, "Choose Peace."
The sign says, "Choose Peace."
I want to beat the fuck out of those two officers respectively then. That's just not right.

Don't know if this was posted or not, but the takedown is epic:
The fact that the media (at least in America, as far as I know it hasn't really been covered here at all which obviously isn't good either) are actually partaking in a smear campaign against the protests is infuriating, and ironically it's just making me sympathise with the protesters even more. Hell, I'm even considering scoping out the upcoming London ones now.
Circulate this like wildfire.
Already have it up on Facebook, repost it if you can.
Occupy NY took off but occupy Boston went from 1000 to 100 in only four days. Probably the damn rain.
Already have it up on Facebook, repost it if you can.
Sadly the only website I visit, and I fucking hate Facebook. New Thread music

Have they decided what their one demand is?
Occupy NY took off but occupy Boston went from 1000 to 100 in only four days. Probably the damn rain.
And flu season.

That said, at least the interviewer seemed at least a little fair.

If I met him, I would give him a high five.
If that actually airs it's gonna be edited to pieces by FOX and they're gonna wright off the whole thing a communist plot. Mind you that the interviewer probably realized he couldn't pull the same shit off with this guy.
Or maybe Fox News is nowhere bad as the stereotypes make out. Nahh :downs:
